In all the excitement of today's Hummingbird Hawk-moth i forgot to post these from last night. Phyticodes binaevella. Carcina quercana. Straw Dot, and Common Carpet #teammoth
It's amazing how a simple encounter with wildlife can give you such a buzz. I've only seen one before over 20 years ago at my last address. Hummingbird Hawk-moth in my current garden. I was sat about a metre away when it appeared on a salvia plant. Over the moon #teammoth

A thoroughly enjoyable mothing session at Kedleston Hall NT last night with @cliveaderbys.bsky.social and @willowglass12.bsky.social. 132 species recorded, which isn't too shabby. Also, i had no idea that female Black Arches was different to the males. You live and learn #teammoth
Quality over quantity last night. A micro on one of the sheets left me scratching my head. Apotomis lineana fitted, but not many recorded in VC57. Sent it to @cliveaderbys.bsky.social and @willowglass12.bsky.social who agreed. Only 4 previous records. 2 in 1981, & singles in 2021 and 2025 #teammoth

3 years ago today, I was walking through gronant dunes in north Wales when this Grasshopper Warbler showed very well. Mor often heard rather than seen this was a real privilege #notamoth
A few micros from last night. Pammene aurita. Batia lunaris. Ancylis badiana and Ethmia quadrillella #teammoth
Incredible session on private land last night with @willowglass12.bsky.social & @richardttaylor.bsky.social. An impressive 181 species with no doubt more missed as it was crazy out there. 1000's of insects flying around our 3 traps. Dave will post at some point but here's a little taster #teammoth
