Just went to see Obsession and it was brilliant. Not the scariest film ever, but easily one of the most disturbing, uncomfortable pieces of media I've ever watched. When the fuck did horror films get so good again? Longlegs, The Substance, Possessor, Hokum, Oddity. So glad to see the genre thriving.

God of War Laufey looks cool, but I'll never understand people who defend the atrocious pacing of cutscenes in most AAA games these days. The walkie talkie bullshit dragged on for an eternity in the trailer. Imagine you were watching a movie with similarly paced conversations. You'd fall asleep.

They're not even remotely the same thing. Subnautica 2 is half the price for a start. Not to mention Subnautica already being an established IP with a massive player base. This is the first modern Bond game in nearly two decades and is single player only. It's sales are fantastic.

Bit late to the party, but I'm genuinely enjoying Pragmata. Combat is an innovative spin on the somewhat tired 3rd person shooter formula. Story is interesting, and while I initially hated Diana, her and Hughs relationship is so fucking cute and the writing so witty, that she eventually won me over.

Knew I made the right decision backing Mina the Hollower on kickstarter years ago. Can't fucking wait.

Mouse P.I. reignited my love for noir films, so spent a lot of the month rewatching some of the classics. Also played the SHOCKINGLY good Chicken Police. That game is the definition of a hidden gem. Also watched Porco Rosso because I heard the animation was beautiful...the animation was beautiful.👍

To be fair, the Polish kinda have a thing with mice and stories about fascism so I wasn't all that surprised. At least Mouse P.I gives us the opportunity to blow away the bastards, so it has that over the book.

DMC Season 2 was a big improvement over the first in my opinion. I know you can't please everyone, but I thought the fight scenes were fantastic and the music choices were perfect. They also took everyone's least favourite game in the series, DMC 2, and somehow made a competent story out of it. 8/10

Unpopular opinion, but I'm a huge DMC fan who actually enjoyed season 1 of the DMC Netflix series, despite It's issues and lack of connection to the games. And I'm even more hyped for season 2. I don't want a 1 to 1 retelling of the games because we've already experienced them. #DMC

I've played some incredible indie survival horror games in the last year, but Ground Zero might be the best. An incredible accomplishment. Pays homage to the greats while still carving out It's own identity. Also has a ridiculous amount of replay value, especially considering it's budget price.

Capcom, Nintendo EPD, Sega, and FromSoftware have been nigh on untouchable for the last decade. The era of Japanese dominance in the AAA space is well and truly back. #pragmata

I had VERY low expectations going into this given It's critical reception, but holy shit, "As Above, So Below" is a really good horror film and is secretly the greatest Tomb Raider film ever made. Seriously, if you are in anyway a Tomb Raider fan, watch this movie. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Haven't heard anything about Legacy of Kain Ascendance since It's reveal over a month ago. It's also releasing in less than a week. I'm sure these are good signs.

Finally decided to finish Elden Ring over the holidays. Quick notes. + Fantastic open world that encourages exploration by not marking where everything is. + Legacy Dungeons were incredibly well designed. - An absolutely diabolical amount of Reused Bosses. - Its length can become exhausting.

I've never wanted more to leave a year behind me. Fucking Christ. Anyways, my New Year's resolution is to finally finish Elden Ring after 3 years. Flying through it this time and I even defeated Radahn on my 5th attempt, which doesn't seem right considering the horror stories I've heard about him.

Back in the 90's, The Addams Family were considered 'weird', but I don't know...they seem the picture of fucking normalcy in 2025. They love each other, are friendly and courteous, have a wonderful sense of humour, and find the idea of killing people amusing. I think we all secretly want to be them.

One of the best Christmas films I've seen in a long time. Very wholesome and feel-good. Could have done without the scene of the dude flipping through the porno mag as I was watching the film with my mother, but aside from that, top marks. 👍
