Can finally share some of the photos I took in Morocco during one of our scan trips for Crossfire. One of the most stunningly beautiful places I've ever visited, and filled with the kindest, most welcoming people I've ever met.
No one ever questions this shit with superhero movies, which Bond essentially set the template for. Craig was a full back to basics reboot, just do it again. Also, since we’re doing Bond discourse, Riz Ahmed would be a great Bond.
Mexico City is stunning and all the food is good and the Dia de Muertos ofrendas are all stunning, including the Megaofrenda in Zocalo
I made some chilaquiles from the tomatillos in my yard and took my dog on a 2.5 mile walk in beautiful weather. So glad the government is sending in the troops to protect me from heaven on earth.
This tomatillo chicken recipe goes hard folks. www.rickbayless.com/recipe/chick... Side of esquites to get rid of the corn that’s been sitting in my fridge.
There’s an equivalent called Save Point that is co-organized by @timdiaz3d.bsky.social! Typically see updates on LinkedIn, I think the next one is August
If you do photogrammetry (or want to get better at it!), a ring flash with a proper filter and scale bars can make your life much easier. I can't recommend the products by Noldorware enough. Extremely high quality materials at a very affordable price point. www.noldorware.com
Made more progress on TIDALFLATS this weekend. I used the Settings menu as a springboard to learn how to save player data - in this case, a variable for Volume controls - that is persistent across play sessions. Was surprised that save and load even work in PIE!
This is a long winded way to say I made my main menu UI today. Since I learned web design before 3D art, it's fun to poke into UMG.
So, how can you generate a Distance Field texture? You can use the Distance Node in Substance Designer, or you can use a Stroke layer in Photoshop with Gradient and Shape Burst set. I unfortunately could not find an alternative in Krita or Affinity.
You can see some great examples of this technique in a 2007(!) Siggraph talk from Valve. Despite this being an old technique, it is often overlooked. steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/apps/valve/2...
"You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who is coming to save you?"
Something like a simple crosshair can be achieved using Signed Distance Fields (SDFs) and can be generated entirely in your shader using math. This example is a slightly modified example from @ghislaingir.bsky.social. 2/3
Always thankful to get quality in-person time with our amazing team. As much as I love remote work, getting quality time together is so important to building a healthy, sustainable culture. Love these folks so much.
Enjoyed a beautiful Sunday in NYC. Nice to be back on the east coast for a short visit.
This derp is also enjoying the crunchy leaves. @qorquiq.bsky.social you said if we post a pet, you'll draw a pet... 👀
I always appreciate and enjoy these morning walks with the loves of my life.
Fall in Portland. #fujifilm Always a special time as the leaves change and the air gets crisp. Masala lattes from the local coffee shop. Beach Fossils, Beach House, and Transatlanticism on rotation.
Roland is using Java as a pillow this morning. Have a blessed Monday everyone.
