I think a parry can also just be a way to take high risk to cancel damage, without being rewarded with a critical hit or anything. Not even frame advantage. A parry that disengages sounds more interesting to me than the usual "parry, riposte, repeat" cycle.

I am actually shocked by the rarity of games like Recettear or Adventure Bar Story. RPGs where you maintain a business should be more common, i feel like it would work ESPECIALLY well with today's crowd. Management sim and RPGs can work really well together, I feel.
