The Introverted English Teacher
@bethcteach
Reader, writer, & learner who believes in the power of stories & storytelling to create empathy. 25 years as a public school teacher find me enjoying the teenagers and hating the bs.
I’m attaching a screenshot of what she said. Best of luck this next school year!
Thorton sends you a timeline cleanse and advises you to eat that treat you’ve been saving, like he’s about to do.
Ooh! There are so many great k-dramas out there! I’m enjoying First Night with the Duke, but it’s not 100% released, so I reserve judgement about the quality. Hands down, my favorite is My Dearest, a gorgeous panoply of love amidst war, tragedy, and ultimately, growth and self discovery.
This was fun; I now want to know which one I missed.
Thorton rests his sweet face on your lap to cheer you up.
Thorton follows me everywhere; you never know when there will be snacks or a walk.
During Winter Break, I started playing Stalker 2, admittedly on easy mode. It reminds me so much of what I loved from Red Dead Redemption 2, Skyrim, and the Fallout games. Open world exploration with an enjoyable storyline. I got stuck in SIRCA b/c of a bug; if on xbox, avoid there for now.
Burning the old year by Naomi Shihab Nye is always a good one. www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/48597/...
Thorton falls asleep on the bed; he sends you peaceful, cuddly vibes.
Gorgeous winter sky tonight; reminds me of a Maxfield Parrish painting.
😂—guess I’ve gently admonished about ALT one too many times! My favorite part—“A blend of casual yet informative—it's like if your high school English teacher also had a TikTok account. You balance serious commentary with light-hearted memes, making every scroll a mini-classroom experience.”
Thorton says we should rest because it’s too cold tonight.
Good morning, friends! Found out at the union meeting last night that the “stealth spirit week” for teachers comes from TikTok. It’s been a bright spot in my week. Today is “anything but a water bottle.” Here’s what I’m bringing:
When I post on my iPad from the camera roll, I can click to add alt text, circled in blue on this screenshot.
Here’s the thumbnail from 2018; it’s a series. Gorgeous, heartrending, I really loved the retelling.
Thorton gives epic side eye to whoever is making life tough for you.
This was the most fun I’ve had all day. Choose your own adventure Check out my Veggie ID! You can create yours at sophie006liu.github.io/vegetal/
Anxious about anything? Thorton is here to say it’ll be okay!
Borges is one of the reasons I am so glad KSU had us take Literatura de las Américas. Gorgeous. Each of Us a Desert by @markdoesstuff.bsky.social reminds me of him.
Just finishing up a rewatch of My Dearest. So sad and so sweet. Anyone have any awesome kdrama suggestions that are at least a little happy at the end?
TFW it’s a four day weekend and you’re at a cross country meet to photograph students.
Like Anime? Mr. Beth & I watched Ranma 1/2 in the mid 90s; fun but hard to find. I just found a remake on Netflix; delightful & fun to share w/our youngest.
Thorton is sacked out in our bed. We wore him out with a quick walk when the rain paused this evening.
No Gain No Love episode 8 on Prime is going into interesting directions. One thing I love about k dramas is that it stays suggestive and rarely shows anything salacious.
Pretty cool metric; it’s interesting to know we’re at 10 million now and 1 million less than a year ago!
