(More) good news for the timeline: My sister and brother-in-law's puppy is a belly flopper
Experiencing a real reaping/sowing situation this week regarding the work I did *not* do last week when I decided to start vacation early on WEDNESDAY. Saw this guy and found it inspiring last night, but not as much today, tethered to my desk. Maybe it will inspire you though - it was really moving!
Okay, it is REAL summer now. It was summer*ish* before, but it’s officially the real deal. Meanwhile, we are two minutes into this game and the kid behind me just asked, “Wait, is it intermission…?”
My hometown and surrounding counties looking just as I expected. "But there must have at least been a lot of good German food...". One would think! But, nein. Thank gods Toledo was only a 25-minute drive away.
A picture that captures your essence. ✨ *Please note my sublime happiness at riding public transit for the first time (in this case, Atlanta's MARTA system to Peachtree plaza).
Woe to insecure men in shadowy robes, so threatened by love they dare attack the moon 🏳️⚧️❤️🏳️⚧️
At least two of these movies are best watched going in with as little backstory or googleable information as possible... #letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched #filmsky #letterboxd
Always slightly terrifying to suddenly be reminded that there are like 100 Blue Jays somewhere in there among the backyard foliage.
Even if it's not immediately obvious, there are signs that my sister and I were raised on a steady diet of Montessori X Jim Henson.
If you would have told me a few years ago that I'd be buying [HARD air quotes] "Croc toes," I would have slapped you. But my nephew is turning 13 and loves nothing more than pranks and Crocs, so here we are. My sister is going to be so (justifiably) mad at me because they are truly horrible! 😆
Ended the work day with bunches of teeny-tiny paper scraps I didn't know what to do with, so now I'm making handfuls of teeny-tiny 1-inch by 1-inch collages to save for play. In case you ever wanted to know how I meditate.
1st art mail delivery! I love my bracelets @usagikumihimo.bsky.social - thank you so much! Thinking it's the year to revisit an old summer style favorite and sport a couple as anklets...
Heyyyy…this is an alien stick finger thread, not a witch stick toe thread...!
This one learned they could go-go-gadget their pointer finger to stealthily poke random buttons at star base, and their mom said, “knock it off or it will stick that way....do it ONE more time Xerdon…I S-WEAR to GOD….” and guess what…
This one likes filling out tedious paperwork. It takes frequent pauses to mindlessly tap the pen back and forth on the paper, a nervous tic it developed a few months ago after receiving a somewhat unsettling transmission from the mothership.
Here's one with a broken finger. ☹️ (Probably tried to break up a squirrel fight 😬)
There are a bunch of knobby twigs in the backyard after last night’s rain and they all look like little alien hands and fingers. I love them, so I’m going to break up work time with a mini thread… (🧵 1/?) This one is a reminder to phone home...
🚨 Just happened to see Do the Right Thing is playing at the Grandview in St. Paul on Thursday, June 25th! I've been waiting a long time to catch this one in a theater manntheatres.com/theatre/83/G...
PSA: This is the best face sunscreen I've ever used in my life. Great if you don't like wearing much makeup, don't like spending money on makeup, and/or (like me) typically forget to put on sunscreen.
The mini entry porch has louvered windows and it feels like a rainforest in there atm, but the peonies love it. They've fully opened and are glorious! My uncle (good with arrangements) would probably jokingly say this is an example of "nothing succeeds like excess" (eyebrows raised) but I am smitten
Check out 1998’s Drylongso on @criterionchannl.bsky.social (and go look for director Cauleen Smith’s more recent multimedia art and installations). #letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched #filmsky #letterboxd
The screened-in porch is officially open for another season. Don’t knock - just come around back.
Spent the afternoon and evening with one of my favorite people at the MN History Center. Always a treat to go there with him, as he helped design the building, has endless stories about it, and is very good at telling them. Ask me about this window sometime…it’s a good one.
It's my favorite temp and I know I won't be able to sleep, so I'm ignoring my piles of laundry to kick off a hot week with Kurosawa's Stray Dog at the Trylon @9:15. Seems like the best move. If you are a fan of extremely sweaty movies and/or Toshiro Mifune looking sexy as hell, come and sit by me
