Approaching Utrecht from the north. Almost the end of a 65km cycle tour with @sofio.bsky.social We cycled to Soest via De Bilt and Bilthoven on the F28. And then via Lage Vuursche, Hollandsche Rading and Hilversum back to Utrecht.

A tunnel opened in the F2 to ’s-Hertogenbosch this afternoon in Zaltbommel and on that same afternoon this bridge on the border of Vught and ’s-Hertogenbosch opened. I waited until sunset to escape the heat. No such luck, still almost 30 degrees.
The final - still nameless - tunnel in the F2 continuous cycle route from Zaltbommel to ’s-Hertogenbosch was opened this afternoon by representatives of the province of Gelderland (centre) and the municipality of Zaltbommel (right). The builder (left) was allowed to pose with them for the press.

And on 20 May the 100 metre long bridge was placed over the canal. Finishing the connection will happen in the coming days.
A new bridge for walking and cycling is being built right at the border of 's-Hertogenbosch and Vught. This was the foundation in placed in April 2026.
Pedantic corner: The name of my hometown ’s-Hertogenbosch is so difficult to spell correctly that even the Dutch railways don’t always get it right. It has to be an apostrophe to indicate omitted letters (“De” in this case) not a quotation mark. It now looks as if the apostrophe is upside down. 🙃
The bridge has been fixed. No more vibrations! It was reopened yesterday. All at the expense of the contractor btw.
