Amazing low tide, today, that we just lucked into. I saw the shapes of hitherto hidden beaches. 😍🌊🐚🏖️🐚 #PNW

A wide expanse of exposed intertidal habitat (Puget Sound). Lots of low lying green algae, some low sandbars, an island in the distance, and a small child in pink is walking into view from the far left. It is a very clear, blue sky day, no clouds at all.

Very large, tall, long-white-petaled, yellow-centered aster fills most of the photo with more of the same behind it, as well as purple petunias (much lower to the ground) and green leaves.

To get the 4 number code to enter the community garden, I pretend I was a certain teen-age in a certain year ('##). It's super weak, since it's a lie, but so far it's weirdly worked!😅🤞🌱

Found a very nicely made nest on the ground. I imagine its utility has expired (once everyone fledged). Looks like it's made of mud and plant materials--very impressive workmanship! My pretty-large feet for scale. #birds #nest 🪹

STUNNING friend I made today in Anacortes, WA. A golden buprestid beetle (Buprestis aurulenta, per iNaturalist) landed on my legs as I stared at poppies.😅 What a gift! 🤩🪲
