I did a UN tour in Darfur, Sudan 2007/2008. Took this photo early on in my tour. Wonder if they got to grow up and survive, considering all the violence since.

Remembrance Day 2025. My last deployment before leaving the Army was to El Fasher, Darfur, Sudan in 2007. It was bad then, so much worse now.
