Este jueves 22 de enero en matik-matik Bogotá presento nuevamente a "lxs Beta 9", un noneto de música original fresca, jugando al balance entre las historias y los colores de la música escrita, la espontaneidad de la improvisación, y el rítmo y sabor colectivo con un combo de músicos de lujo.

"(...) Three passages were the original seeds of the composition. These three different “seeds” are dense and rhythmically diverse, presenting cycling materials that are constantly evolving as if these moments of cohesion are inevitably short-lived.”

(...) I generated much of the composition’s motives through improvisation at the piano. While the texture and development of the piece are precisely notated, it is intended to sound like an ensemble improvisation.(...)

Here’s a little blurb I wrote then about the piece: “I conceived this piece specifically for the members of Yarn/Wire. It is deliberately virtuosic especially in the piano writing and is dedicated to my friend and ever inspiring pianist Laura Barger (...)"
