The Fire Academy has taught me new levels of exhaustion - and that’s okay, that’s the point. What an amazing experience - but I’ll be happy to hit the street and learning more, practicing more, every freaking day.
As a kid I was obsessed with Star Blazers / Space Battleship Yamamoto - it was with great joy and giddy nostalgia that I found a live action, English dubbed version. It’s wonderfully corny awesome. My inner 6 year old is very happy.
First full practical (hand on) week at the training center / burn house at the Academy. Hard, but massively rewarding.
That’s a wrap! At least temporarily. Leave of absence at Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue while I’m in the Fire Academy.
Life has taken an interesting twist or two. Power lunches with GS-12’s or CIOs, to leftovers at the firehouse. The later is MUCH preferred.

What Perfect Album came out the year you turned 16? Well for me in 1989, we had 8 perfect albums.
Known as “Arrowhead Mountain” in Game of Thrones, this is actually Kirkjufell, or “Church Mountain” in Iceland near Grundarfjörður on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. There is also a waterfall here, however it’s so infested with tourists/tourist buses, I can’t recommend seeing it.
