The best view of the Tilikum Bridge is from the Ross Island Bridge, but that bridge is a little scary to use because of the exposure to fast traffic

I had some fun riding across Portland’s bridges, enjoying some sweets, and even taking a break to kick off my shoes and read in a park before boarding the Amtrak to head home to Seattle. It’s been a wonderful trip filled with great memories. See ya next time, PDX!

I biked to every station on the MAX Blue Line from Hillsboro to Beaverton to Portland to Gresham. 48 miles with some hills is not too bad for an STP recovery ride, though unfortunately the sandal tan on my feet is the worst it’s ever been 😅

Day 2 of my 2nd ever @cascade.org Seattle To Portland ride was a success! I biked the final 105 miles from Centralia to Portland, my body felt great the whole way, as I finished strong, faster than my performance in the 2024 STP. What an incredible experience!

Day 1 of this year’s @cascade.org Seattle To Portland ride is complete! I biked 102 miles from Seattle to the halfway point in Centralia; by Sunday afternoon, I should be in downtown Portland. Having a great time so far on my 2nd ever STP!

One year ago today I brought Coraline into my family, and while Foggy was a bit hostile to the idea of adding another cat, he’s grown to love having a little sister, even one as annoying as her. Here’s to many more years with these kitties!

On Sunday, I dropped my e-bike off for repairs; by Wednesday I was back to riding it thanks to wonderful work of Seattle Electric Bike in Green Lake. After 5 years, my e-bike rides like it’s brand new, & they fixed electronics issue I had been having for past 2 years (I procrastinate pretty hard).

On the last day of my Philly-Virginia trip, I went to one of my favorite places: the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria which has 3 floors of artist residences where you can meet & talk with artists (& celebrated 50th anniversary last year). I’m finally home in Seattle again; what a whirlwind of a trip!

It was a surprise to see the Denny Cabin was open and special to take people to the Bubbleator from the Century 21 Expo in 1962 including a few who actually got to ride in it back when it was in service.

4 months into the year, and I’ve finally been able to stop the gradual weight gain that’s been happening over the past year. Focusing on improving my sleep schedule, snacking habits, and building core strength vs losing weight has helped immensely with my physical fitness.
