Loving the colour of this common field grasshopper that I spotted on the new 5km trail at Cloghan Lake
The old cranberry farm near me is the place to be if you're a six spot burnet. I've never seen so many there before. Many of them are working on the next generation...
⚠️ Potentially upsetting sound here - sounds like an animal being predated. Anyone hazard a guess at what I'm hearing? I'm thinking that my regular garden fox or a nearby pine marten caught a hare or rabbit. I was out with the dog in the night and it was insanely loud, but all over very fast.
Time for a Sam Neill sci fi horror classic with @sineadnico.bsky.social
The heat is making the algae in the pond go mad, but on the upside, lots of water lilies this year
The house martin chickies on the gable end are feeling the heat when the sun swings around in the evening. There's a second one just behind this little fella...
Lunch and a bit of shade for this chick. The chicks have a habit of lying there looking dead for stretches of time, see pic two, but they're fine!
Spraoi was very brave getting his bloods done today. Distracted himself by roaring at another patient.
This just frightened the shite out of me until I realised what it was
