What YIMBYism has to offer feminism is therefore a vision of a new kind of city: a city where, as Rebecca Tiffany so eloquently put it, "Every trans eighteen-year-old who is stuck living with unsupportive family lis able to afford an apartment in a vibrant urban space with transit on a minimum wage job." This is a vision of a different way of ordering society, one based on abundant housing and well-remunerated labor. The struggle against misogyny, against transphobia, and against homophobia, are immense world-historical struggles waged in the battleground of the soul, and in their own way quite intractable.
The material patterns of dependence that underpin patriarchy, on the other hand, are much more available to the levers of public policy. A program of abundant housing is a program of material emancipation of the vulnerable from patriarchy.

Starkweather Creek on a bright day that wasn't too cold.

A creek with ice at the edges but mostly open water, with ducks swimming in it further away. The land on either side has long grasses and clumps of brush & trees. A bit of snow covers the land. The sun's reflection bounces off the ice in the creek.

Here's a pic of a dog that never lived closer than 1000 miles from you, so I hope it's enough distance. (Not my dog, but I lived in his house for his last few years.) He took his cleanup duties very seriously.
