Mostly into 70s and 80s horror/cult/sleaze, but occasionally getting lost into other eras too. Eurocult. SOV. Jess Franco, German UG horror, Naschy... the list goes on. And oh all those crazy italians too.
To buy, or not to buy? Buy… Here’s my little @vinsyn.bsky.social haul!
Re-watching Howling VI: The Freaks (1991). The first time I saw it was on a Nepalese VHS. If you’re wondering what a Nepalese “release” looked like… it was just a regular VHS cassette with a photograph of the movie poster taped to the front.
Playing now: Night Screams (1987). I originally skipped this one, but then I found the slipcover version for a decent price…
Neon Slime! And before you know you’ll be dancing to the tunes of Wings Livinryte…
Blood Delirium (1988). If you think you’ve seen it all… Think again!
Now watching: New York Undercover Cop (1993). I would say i paid a dollar for this, but that would be lying. I paid 1€.
Don't Go in the Woods (1981). But they did… And in the words of ZZ Top… I thank them. One of the greatest slashers of all time. Take my word for it.
Furious Slaughter (1972). I hope it will be... I'm counting on you Mr. Wang Yu!
Turns out i couldn't take that Feldman movie. Too much trumpet on the soundtrack... Instead i'm going to watch Witchcraft IV: The Virgin Heart (1992).
Brion James and Corey Feldman want to take me back to 90s. Evil Obsession (1996).
I got bunch of stuff. This "I stopped collecting" isn't really working. I've got some nice ones and also some cheap ones. I flipped the Degausser/Vinegar release of Iced (1989) and got this German release instead. The image quality isn't wildly different and the cover art is way better.
Who needs Kickboxer when you've got Kickboxer Cop (1991)? Teddy Page directs and Andrew Stevens does his best while Karen Sheperd kicks ass. Is it good? Don't ask me. I just got it.
Manchurian Avenger (1984). Rarely seen... Even less talked about. I got this bitchin' mediabook release and i'm wondering if it's worth bothering?
The Unborn (1991). Let's see how bad this mutant babies movie is!
It's -25c outside. I've got potato chips, Cherry Coke and i'm on a Highway To Hell (1991).
Today's mail: Cyclops (1987) which is splatter from Japan, Basket Case 2 because it was cheap, and last but not least Lykantropia. Lykantropia (Lycanthropy in english) was the first ever finnish language horror movie zine and this book contains all those old issues + some extras between its covers.
When was the last time you listened to C-cassettes? Hearing Blood Sugar Sex Magik with dying batteries makes it sound like Barry White was singing on it!
More from Hong Kong: Prison on Fire 1&2. The cover art ain't that pretty, but it was cheap.
