I didn’t grow this, but it was from the local farmers market. It sounded like feasting vampires as I ate it. Come to think of it, vampires are probably more discreet in their slurping.

A bunch of small daffodils have emerged from leaf debris left from last fall. Their spring green stems and bright yellow blooms stand in stark contrast to the dull browns and grays of the earth surrounding them.

This scratches an itch. I know I’m not the only Lego user who gets great pleasure Knolling and to those others I say Merry Knolling to you and a Happy New Year too.

December is not my favorite. One thing that seems to bring some light to my grinchy soul each year however is my Lego village. MY village. Not my kids’, not my husband’s, MINE. And I’m not shy about it and permission is required to get near it.

My fishbone cactus bloomed for the first time! The bud it sprang from was very funky looking but I didn’t get a picture of that stage.

A dear friend gave me this cute lil hanging pot fella. Prob wouldn’t be great for a live plant so I’m crocheting one of yarn instead. Need to add a few more on top, I think. 🧶

This cake is from Smitten Kitchen. I believe it’s just called “Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake”. This is the 14th year I’ve made it for my husband’s birthday. If you make it, you will not regret it.

Last night at a dream come true event for my youngest (MCR concert), my oldest took off his shoes for the whole show so my youngest could stand on them and have another inch or two of height to see better. My mama heart nearly exploded.

This crazy thing (Solanum Pyracanthum) is blooming. It’s an experiment to see if squirrels will leave the other flowering things in the pot alone with thorns in there. I’m guessing it doesn’t phase them at all.
