Pride is not a city event,
not a minority event, not a country event.

Every Pride, no matter where it is held in the world,
is organized for the benefit of all humanity.

Pride is an event of hope.
The hope that these many small points of light
will spread throughout different parts of the world
and more lights will be lit in the world.
Until one day all humanity will be bathed in light.

Pride is also a political event.
It always has been, it always will be.
A gathering, a demonstration, a march.
We stop the traffic of the city for a few hours
so that people will necessarily pay attention to us
and hopefully listen to us.
Politics, because the purpose of the march,
beyond drawing attention,
is to induce social and legal changes.
We want elected representatives to abolish oppressive,
modify discriminatory laws
and introduce supportive, inclusive regulations.

It will be politics even when,
many years from now, new generations will live in a more accepting country.

Politics now, because we say:
"These and these laws and regulations are not good, change them!"

Politics in the future:
"This is no longer a demonstration, but a joyful march and commemoration.
Joy, because we now live in a world where
people are accepting and the laws are good.
And a commemoration of those without whose struggles we would not be here."

Pride was not born just for the sake of LGBTQ+ people.
For the sake of every oppressed person.

So that we can finally live in a world where no one needs to be afraid.

Pride is a message of hope for a better world.

If someone may think that falsified and made-up information is a new phenomenon, well... only the method is new (like with genAi). Excerpt from the book of The Game of Tarot by Michael Dummet.

When enquired of Mr Wykes, he informed me in April 1971 that his notes and manuscript for Gambling had been
sold to an American university, but did not specify the institution fortunate enough to obtain this material. After further enquiry, Mr Wykes stated in July 1971 that ās-nās
was a game favoured by the fourteenth-century poet Hafiz, and referred me to Muhammad 'abd al-Ghanī, A History of Persian Language and
Literature A the Mughal Court (Allahabad, 1929-30), where he thought I should find
references to Hafiz playing the game; he said also that he thought he had got the quotation from the journal of one of
Columbus's seamen from Hakluyt's account of William Hawkins's voyage to Brazil. When I informed him that both
these references had proved completely incorrect, and that a systematic search (by myself in English translation, and by
a graduate student in the original) had failed to uncover any reference by Hafiz to ās-nās, he finally disclosed, in May 1972, that much of the research for his book had been done 'professional researchers' to whom he had simply telephoned enquiries and put the answers into the narrative
when they had been discovered for him. I have the authority of Professor S.E. Morison, the leading expert on Columbus's voyages, for saying that the quotation given by Mr Wykes is spurious. A method of composition under
which the information supplied by a so-called research agency is simply passed on to the reader without having
been checked by the author exposes such agencies to the temptation of merely inventing information; readers ought
surely to be entitled to feel assured that an author has done his best to make certain that the information to which he attaches his name is correct.
