I guess when you have zero confidence you can get your national party to change its platform to appeal to your state's electorate, this kind of nonsense is your next logical conclusion.
Here's what our time zones looked like before television got involved. Might not be screwing with this bill if we had kept them this way:
Remember Republicans just need 8 or 9 of the top 25 House races to hold the gavel. If generic is even on E-Day, we can do that and more. Lotta track left in this derby.
As Republicans we need to mind a flashing red light on our dashboard. Texas runoff turnout cratered. Paxton was 2nd in March with 883,000 votes & a runaway 1st in May with 885,000, in a state with 6 million Trump votes. We've got an enthusiasm problem.
Susan Collins is exactly the kind of Republican that Democrats say we should all be. She's pro-choice, voted for Sotomayor, Kagan & Jackson. She helped Obama on his big bills & Biden on infrastructure. Yet Democrats are going all-in on a train wreck to beat her. My take for CNN:
Don’t forgot, in 2020 ALL of the pollsters had predicted Sara Gideon would defeat SenatorCollins #HowDidThatTurnOut
This is why Republicans fight so hard on taxes; liberalism’s aspiration for spending demands much higher taxes on the middle class. It only starts with the rich.
Iowa remains strongly Republican despite Democratic optimism. He said Democrats are targeting three House seats and argued Chuck Schumer spent $10 million to back a more electable candidate over a more progressive alternative.
To really do this chart right it needs to show electrical linemen, coaches, surveyors, military, etc.
Virginia’s next opportunity to draw will be in ‘28 only if Dems keep the GA in ‘27 & Abby/Louise trajectory right now makes that uncertain. Keep in mind they won this majority making promises very different from how they’ve governed. Va voters want purple more than blue.
In all the screeching over the Virginia Supreme Court redistricting decision, it’s getting lost that the decision was written by Justice Arthur Kelsey, who was put on the appellate bench by Democratic Gov. Mark Warner& confirmed to the Supreme Court by EVERY legislative Democrat.
On with some of my favorite fellow CNN contributors this morning. Tune in!
It’s telling that he downplays the key turnout data. Republicans simply voted more in Virginia, which explains most of the shift from 2024 to 2025.
How do you rig an election? You rig the question. Look at this ballot asking Virginians to flip a 6D-5R congressional map to 10D-1R, breaking up every region of the Commonwealth. Yet the ballot says “to restore fairness.” Rigged. VOTE NO.
You skipped over the fact that Rs in the General Assembly agreed to a Democratic plan to create a bipartisan redistricting commission, which voters approved in ‘20, in every jurisdiction but Arlington, yielding a regional integrity map, which gives Ds 6, Rs 4, plus 1 swing seat.
Add this to NRCC out-pacing DCCC, House R candidates being much closer to Ds in hard money than ever before, D primaries yielding kooks and you begin to see a framework for retention of Mike Johnson’s gavel. House GOP campaign infrastructure is rock solid.
We are about to learn which universities engaged in ruthlessly self-critical strategic planning processes in the aughts and teens. Those schools - along with P4 flagships, R1s, and Top 100 liberal arts schools - survive. Everyone else should worry.
Should the Shenandoah Valley be coherently represented in one district or cut up into four districts anchored in other regions? That’s on the ballot. Vote NO.
When Virginians walk into the polls tomorrow, something will be missing...the grotesque, region-splitting, NoVa driven power grab map Democrats have drawn. Why did they block voters from knowing what it was? My take for CNN
Kim English is a high quality college coach. Early red on the dashboard in Chapel Hill.
Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger betrayed the residents of her state by signing National Popular Vote into law last night. The compact now stands at 222 electoral votes.
