Last year a wasps nest in the garden was raided by Badgers. Today there was another wasps nest damaged. The Badgers here must have a taste for the grubs. Didn't get too close but wasps build amazing nests. bsky.app/profile/bren...
While out this morning spotted a wood pigeon not flying away as normal. Clearly injured, let me approach but tried to fly, unsuccessfully. Decided to let nature take its course. Back an hour later, nature did what it does.
Restoring a 1984 Land Rover, when referring to the manual it's really frustrating when I try to zoom in to the pictures.
Replacing the aggressive rye grass on this bank with wild flowers seems to have gone reasonably well.
When the kids were young the lawn was a place for football, bikes and water fights. Less maintenance now. Lots of oak seedlings, many in pots, from previous years, to be replanted when I get on top of the rye grass. A wild flower bank also in progress, more to come on that.
Any clever Blue sky people who can explain this? A small pool of water on a black plastic tarpaulin froze overnight and had this odd icicle form in it. 🤔

Not that it will surprise you, I just happened to see this on FB. Some of the comments lean heavily towards a violent response. Clearly a need for education and persuasion.
It has been a rough 10 days. The pleasure of a trip to Barcelona soon forgotten.

What made you smile today? For me it was spotting the first House Martin of the year. They nest in the eaves of the house and garage during the summer. This time of year we see the ocassional advance visitor who might disappear again for a while. Made me genuinely happy 😁
As storm Bert has moved in across Ireland we have seen the temperature go from -1°C to +13° in just 24 hours. Quite striking. This is the Callan river, Armagh. Usually little more than a large stream at this point in its journey.
