It's a good question about Farage's media downfall. I can only assume that it's either: 1. A personal vendetta. 2. Russia doesn't have the money to promote him anymore. 3. They're now putting their bets on someone else.
Farage even rehearsed a much longer Nuremberg-style walk! #BinFarage
What I immediately think of when I see Farage performing his "tribute to the dead" for the watching TV cameras ... #BinFarage
So sad to hear about the passing of Sam Neil. He was an actor with a fascinating filmography and a warm, honest humanity that permeated everything he did. #RIPSamNeil 😥
SPOILER ALERT: Any politician who chooses to only talk about recent GDP growth and ignores its relationship to previous GDP losses cannot be trusted.
Yes. It reminds me of this old anti-Europe quote from Tony Benn. His "alternative economic strategy" from the 1970s saw Britain "withdrawing behind walls" to sort out its problems.
When Burnham talks of "localism", he always ignores the fact that giving more power to local communities lies at the heart of the EU idea. Alongside regional funding, the EU's Committee of the Regions facilitates cooperation between towns, cities and regions across the whole continent! #RejoinEU 🇬🇧🇪🇺
With Farage resigning, all the main players responsible for Brexit are gone – leaving behind a political generation that didn't create Brexit yet feels it has to cling on to it due to some vague sense of duty to the past. But politics doesn't work like that. And neither does democracy! #RejoinEU 🇬🇧🇪🇺
Here's a screen grab from a post @jim-stewartson.bsky.social wrote on X to describe the damaged characters of Musk and Thiel. It's well worth a short read! #OligarchsOut

Your memory fails you. Martin Bell ran as an anti-sleaze candidate and served, as promised, as a constituency MP.
Here's a scenario ... 1. Farage gets suspended from parliament for long enough to trigger a recall vote in Clacton. 2. Labour, LDs and Greens stand down to let a respected anti-Reform celebrity stand against Farage in the by-election. 3. Repeat at the general election if he tries to stand again.
I personally think each catergory of transportation, from pedestrian through bikes to public transport and private cars should have its own infrastructure and its own rules. The Netherlands and Hong Kong showed me what's possible when you keep the different categories apart.
Here's Franklin D. Roosevelt explaining his New Deal over 80 years ago. What the best progressives around the world are trying to do now is transpose these principles into a world that's globalised, suffering from climate change, under attack from fascists and billionaires, and wrestling with AI.
Congratulations! You've been promoted to General Hamill of the Radical Left Lunatics Brigade!
A great read! I was recently involved in a big project about Marcus Aurelius in South-East Germany. It was about how Stoicism influenced his style of government, and how that style has grown to encapsulate what we expect from "wise rulers" ever since. I find this quote particularly helpful now ...
We don't need a referendum for rejoining the Single Market. We never had one to leave it.
In some parts of the UK, the farmers were more Remain than the local population. In others they were more Brexit. I always found it perplexing that the biggest difference between Remain locals and Brexit farmers was in Scotland – where 67% of rhe farmers voted to leave.
This is a big deal! 💥The frontrunner for the Democratic presidential nomination, Gavin Newsom, has posted this call for a national billionaires tax and a new social contract. Even he's admitting now that the system is fundamentally broken! [SOUND ON 🔊]
Here's a great new video from the LibDems calling for a return to the Single Market and Freedom of Movement. I've cut it into two sections due to Bluesky time limits. The third post has a youtube link to the full vid. #RejoinEU 🇬🇧🇪🇺 1. The Narration
It's great to hear Ed Davey and the LibDems arguing for the Single Market and Freedom of Movement so strongly here. More of this please! It's such a relief to hear it discussed positively! #RejoinEU 🇬🇧🇪🇺
At the moment, the Brexiters are in the minority. Lab, LibDems, Greens, SNP, Plaid and a couple of others have over 490 seats. That's 75% of parliament. A majority needs 326 votes. So over 150 MPs from the Progressive/Liberal parties could say no to the Single Market and we'd still have a majority!
In case you missed it ... Importantly, the free movent of people comes with rules to protect host states from abuse – though these are rules that the UK never bothered to enforce while we were in the EU. #RejoinEU 🇬🇧🇪🇺
Here's Michel Barnier confirming that the door is always open to us to rejoin the Single Market like Norway. All we have to do is accept that Freedom of Movement exists for goods, services, capital and people between the UK and the EU. (For rules on free movement, see the next post) #RejoinEU 🇬🇧🇪🇺
