Anyway this is what I said in response. If you are fortunate enough to see The Odyssey (or any other film) in the director's preferred format, enjoy it. But don't deprive yourself of this or any other movie just because you can't get to a specific screen. The filmmakers will not be upset.
The only Odyssey discourse that really irks me is the fetishization of presentation format. This is a special film that's worth seeing in a theater, whether on IMAX, 70mm, or just a regular movie screen. Christopher Nolan will not be mad at you if you see it on a DCP at your local multiplex.
