Yellowstone sunrise through the smoke haze from Washington. #blueskystunday #stunday #yellowstone
Just wanted to remind you that no matter how experienced you become, you still have to pay attention to the little things.
3 photographs of the Milky Way. The first 2 in the Tetons – a dark sky reserve – the 3rd just outside Glacier National Park in a campground with the lights of the nearby town in the distance – clearly not a dark sky reserve! Not pro-grade, but illustrative of the importance of #darkskies!
The west side of Glacier National Park in Autumn becomes a riotous, magical land when the Western Larch puts on a dazzling show before losing their needles for winter! #shotoncanon #autumnsplendor #naturephotographer
Nature photography should never come at the expense of the landscape, wildlife, or other people's experience. In this new essay, I outline the principles that guide how I work in the field. Read the full essay: portraitsofnature.substack.com/p/ethics-in-...
Snow Squall, Sunbeam, An Obstinacy Of Yellowstone Bison An obstinacy is the term for a group of bison, and it is so fitting! These bison are obstinately climbing a hill in a sudden snow squall with a single beam of sunlight piercing the clouds and snow as if to guide them on their way.
Happy nature, photography day! Nature photography is about so much more than cameras. It’s about environmental ethic, spreading awareness, barely get connection, nature and viewing the photography.
The Upper Falls of the Yellowstone River & Chittenden Bridge. 😍 The bridge was named for park engineer Captain Hiram M. Chittenden of the US Army Corps of Engineers. It was originally built in 1903, when the Army protected and managed the park, before the creation of the National Park Service.
Sunrise & Moonset Over the Tetons 1st of 3 of my photos nominated for a People's Choice Award in the One Shot Photo contest. Please like, share, and VOTE via the link. Your support is deeply appreciated. Deets in alt text. exposureoneawards.com/people-vote-...
The judges at Exposure One Awards have nominated not one, but three of my photographs for the People's Vote Award in their One Shot Photo Contest. I'll share them over the coming days. If any of these photographs move you, a vote would mean a great deal. You can vote once per day through May 24.
A photo from 2023 — Grand Prismatic Spring from an open helicopter overhead is just art reflecting an even more beautiful reality. (And I don't like heights! The things we do for #art!) Nature delights & humbles us. #landscapephotography #shotoncanon #Yellowstone #aerial #airphoto #montana

Any animal or plant that has ESA protection has become a lightning rod for GOP hate mongery. It isn't about the particular species being saved from extinction; it's the idea that any government would have the gall to refuse to allow them to do anything they please.
This is why we can't have nice things. Elk eating crabapples and etc in the front yard.
A reminder, most roads in Yellowstone close for the winter on Halloween. Let us guide you to the Park's most iconic locations painted with fall color while the crowds are gone, roads are still open, & wildlife is busy getting ready for winter! Book your adventure now! briancreek.photography

I was a misfit in high school. A photographer/artist/naturalist, a handful of friends got it. One of those just commented on FB, "You are the only one, that I can remember, who knew exactly who you were and what you wanted to do as a kid and did it! I love your posts and photography" 😍 #successful
Yesterday we lucked into perfect conditions for making photographs of Yellowstone's Old Faithful! Dark background, quartering wind, and a sunbeam blazed down and lit the geyser like it was in an art gallery. 😍 #yellowstone #supervolcano #landscape
This promises to be a fun, informative talk with the head of the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory! Come down (or up) to Gardiner for dinner in one of our great restaurants and learn about the Yellowstone Super Volcano from the expert!
24 years ago, and so fresh in my mind. This made us all stand shoulder to shoulder as a nation, and also the world stood shoulder to shoulder with America. Such a stark contrast to today. Will the sacrifice and pain of 911 just fade from our collective memory, to be replaced by hate and fascism?
Hey, it is #bluesky #stunday! Here is a photograph I'm currently working on, most likely not the finished version. 🙂 #shotoncanon #landscape #nationalparks #eosr5
