Not for the first time, I come across a passage in Jorge Semprun's 'The Second Death of Ramon Mercader' that really recalls Robbe-Grillet's nouveau-/ciné-roman 'Last Year in Marienbad'. Maybe not surprising when you know that Semprun later worked with Alain Resnais.
