This is a really awesome thing. There are a handful of games where I had to ask, "Wait, *did* I play this? Did I finish it?" But I feel pretty well-rounded having been through the list, even though I apparently have around 40 historically important games to play. giantbomb.com/ogu

If you heard about @giantbomb.com’s Fishing Week and thought “But I’m not into video games that are for jocks and/or dads!”, might you be interested in a fishing game that is also an RPG? I spent a lot of time with Legend of the River King on the GBC as a kid, despite not liking the outdoors.

Played/journaled my way through Rillem by @zigorously.bsky.social over the weekend. It’s cool! Fun way to write a Myst-like journal in a Riven-like world. The only downside is that I am so, so bad at drawing, so my sketches were all disappointing. But that’s OK. chronicled-fox.itch.io/rillem

If nothing else, I know that Square has a pretty good track record of Final Fantasy games with cover art featuring a hot girl atop something that looks like a monster. So Resonance has a good chance of being good.
The Dally Weather is basically functioning like a screen-free Wordle replacement for me. The goal: Make the day’s weather pattern (getting the right squares into the right places on the grid) and also cover up every month and day other than today’s date. The right balance of relaxing vs. tricky.

I haven’t kept up a ton with the Stanley Cup playoffs since the Dallas Stars were knocked out, but apparently I should have been watching, because Reddit’s AI is telling me that the Stars somehow returned after elimination and beat the Avalanche in Game 7. I missed so much excitement!
Wow, y'all were right, they made the Star Fox team look weird in this remake.
I’ve mostly been buying very small and affordable tabletop games lately, but there has been so much hype about this one… and it can be played solo… and it’s Lord of the Rings… So I splurged.
It’s accurate (the kid knows ball), but I still chuckled when looking at a piece of Master Chief art at my son’s school and seeing the description that said “This is John.”
It looks like they just made a version of Rhino Hero but for Final Fantasy nerds, and I think I’m OK with that.
I didn’t get to hang out with all my cool gaming friends at PAX over the weekend. Instead I get to enjoy a much more serious conference of online Journalism. But I got a free book, so take that, video games.
My son found my Legend of Zelda Game & Watch (the modern anniversary one) and played a bit of Link’s Awakening. I told him about the Switch remake and he’s on the second dungeon of that (albeit with a lot of help from me). He wanted me to read him the OoT manga before bed. Then he drew me this.
I need @alexhirsh.bsky.social to come back to Bluesky to tell me if I should be worried that my son draws Bill Cipher on the back of all the books he writes and draws like it’s a publishing house logo.
Ah yes, this will only help us in the fight to gain readers’ trust, especially when many of those readers only read headlines they see.

With many thanks to @delilahsdawson.bsky.social, my son now has his first books that are signed by the author. Being my kid, it is perfect that they are video game tie-in books.
I have mastered the most important Sonic game, which I definitely knew existed before today.
Gonna see if 3D printing a wall-mounted arcade cabinet and sticking a Raspberry Pi 5 inside it will make the world a better place. (Odds are low, but at least we’ll have fun.)
