Weirdest thing to be reading for my sword & sorcery, but--that last section on the sea, that I always meant to reread (and again on my deathbed, if feasible)--that prose poem at the end, is what I need for my watery, moody last stretch.
🌈 Proud of my profiles of Jessica Amanda Salmonson and Janrae Frank in New Edge Sword & Sorcery 3 & 6 @newedgeswordmag.bsky.social
My new Goatskin novella is out now amgalant.com/out-now-what... Goatskin's tales are sword & sorcery in a Mongol-world setting. In this adventure: yak nomads, were-beasts, two loves, revolution. In digital and paperback from the Brackenbury Books shop newedgeswordandsorcery.com/product-tag/...
*What Rough Beast?* is out in the world on June 15th a standalone Goatskin novella from Brackenbury Books. Cover art Goran Gligović, frontispiece Linnea Sterte amgalant.com/new-novella-...
There's a spider hanging over my workstation so I went outside this 1st of May to write the first scene of a new novella.
I'm glad to say I'll have a Goatskin story in @scyllapublishing.bsky.social 's Sapphic Spec Fic anthology. First book from this new Australian small press. Their website already has a call for the next anthology: www.scyllapublishing.com
Third post for Sapphic Visibility Day. I am proud of my profiles of Jessica Amanda Salmonson (#3) and Janrae Frank (#6) for New Edge Sword & Sorcery @newedgeswordmag.bsky.social These matter to me as much as my fiction in the mag: I love to shine a light on the lesbian past in Sword & Sorcery.
April 9 is Sapphic Visibility Day Here's Goatskin and Sister Chaos Who have a second novella out next month Sapphic Sword & Sorcery, Yesss You can buy Waste Flowers at the @newedgeswordmag.bsky.social shop #SapphicBooks newedgeswordandsorcery.com/product-cate...
Next up. I got this (in spite of the other Malorys I have) because I liked the thought of the fall-of-Camelot section seen on its own, as the taut tragedy it is. Also I liked the cover.
1961. From my Lesbian Pulp Fiction reader, which gives the back copy of the originals. The cover copy had to allay suspicions, even when a lesbian author wrote as sympathetic a story as she was allowed.
Here's the contents page of the Lyons, vol 3: Texts. Has Antar, the Baibars epic, Dhat al-Himma. It is 'epitomes' rather than translations, or else the vol would be bigger than 660 pp.
The sweet hardcover of our Double-Edged Sword & Sorcery has only 7 left available. Two back-to-back novellas of Mongol-inspired Sword & Sorcery by Dariel R.A. Quiogue and me, fab covers by Artyom Trakhanov and Goran Gligović Get them as add-ons in the NESS campaign www.backerkit.com/c/projects/b...
16 left -- softcovers of #1, no reprint 'includes a Goatskin story' 🐐 (namely 'Sister Chaos' one of my faves) look under the Add Ons tab www.backerkit.com/c/projects/b...
My copy of Sometime Lofty Towers from @newedgeswordmag.bsky.social Just a gorgeous book in the hand and to the eye
