My look today is inadvertently Robin Williams in the Birdcage although my chest isn’t as hairy and my moustache is mere bum fluff in comparison, but it’s a good look!
I am celebrating Captain Picard Day by drinking hot Earl Grey tea brewed in my Bodum teapot from my Bodum mug. Make it so!
We’re ready for this afternoon’s Transmission Wirral meet-up at Future Yard in Birko. All trans+ people and allies are welcome 💜🏳️⚧️ #thefutureisbirkenhead #TMW #transrightsarehumanrights
*we’re gonna use it. I accidentally made the name grammatically fancy. But when they looked this (and me and my friends did too). They were so charming and fun.
It was the weirdest and greatest gig I’ve ever experienced. We spoke to Phil Hartley after the gig and I can’t remember a word but I know it was marvellous nonsense. I wish there was video or photos but this was prehistoric times of course.
A couple of days late, I’m celebrating #ThresholdDay. This year is the 30th anniversary, I don’t understand why such a monumental day isn’t a holiday around the globe. As I saw every time, I want some of those Voyager sickbay pyjamas.
Tonight I’m choosing to stay home with the cats, wrapped up warm and watching Star Trek. Lovely. My plans for 2026: more social, more dancing, more cinema, less hermitting. Whatever you choose to do this evening, I wish you all a very Happy New Year 🥳
Accidental or deliberate (not sure which) affirmation from my Mum; a card with my name on a sticker instead of “family member”. Beautiful 😍🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈🎄🎉
God jul (eller God fortsättning kanske), Nadolig Llawen, Merry Christmas to all who celebrate!
It’s exactly one year since I adopted Evie 😻 I trudged for an hour across waterlogged fields and an old graveyard to get to her foster home, soaking my trainers, socks and trousers (please note that this wasn’t necessary, I just made some foolish decisions and refused to turn back).
Heading from the more scouse side of the Wirral over to the fancier side for a family do in West Kirby. On the map you can also see Thurstaston which means “Thor’s stone” because a few years ago, the Norse god Thor put a big stone on top of a hill. Not sure why but the view from there is amazing.
You’d think that at my age, I would know better but it’s quarter past one and I’m considering a “quick nap” with a pillow and blanket. And pyjamas. I’ll see you all at tea time.
It’s Toffee’s 1st adoptaversary today! One year ago she was hiding behind my toilet but within a week she’d destroyed a plant, spilt water and generally caused chaos and I knew it was going to be alright. It’s been lovely seeing her gain confidence and I’m so glad I could provide a home for her.
Evie illustrating my present state here. I don’t have a blep but otherwise that’s my facial expression.
Trans Pride in Brighton today has been gorgeous, affirming, friendly, supportive, beautiful and much needed. So happy with my “protect scouse dolls” t-shirt- it got a lot of compliments. Here I am with my bestest scouse doll Ashleigh 💜🏳️⚧️
1992, I mean. We ran into a field to disrupt a shoot that was about to start. Rural police followed and managed to catch us up when we hit a newly ploughed field. But we stopped the shoot!
“A Million Ghost Records” is the new album by my new band “The Seagulls of Manchester” Band name and album title inspired by recent events (aggressive pigeons and a library catalogue going haywire overnight).
Here is perhaps the best photo I’ve ever taken of my ex-feral rescue cat Toffee, captured yesterday evening. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. She is just so daft.
Pride Month is here and I’m looking forward to trying this in a meeting
Working on my slides for this webinar happening on Tuesday at 1pm. There's still time to register and it's open to all: www.cilip.org.uk/events/Event...
Belatedly realising that my beloved Spock cosplay wig (a dark brown 1960s synthetic number that belonged to my aunty back in the day) looks a lot more like the mop top wig that Chekov wears in some episodes. So my Spock cosplay was really "Beatles throwback with pointy eyebrows". Right era though.
Just over one week to the @ciliplgbtq.bsky.social webinar where I'll talk about being an ally to trans, non-binary & gender non-conforming people. We're a tiny minority under ongoing attack - allies are essential. Tuesday 27 May, 1-2pm on Teams and open to all! www.cilip.org.uk/events/Event...
If you see this post a picture of yourself from 5 years ago.
