Seeing "The Samurai and the Prisoner," a film by Kiyoshi Kurosawa at @filmliverpool.bsky.social in August with director Q&A. Very excited about this and will now have to go back and rewatch his films. 📽️
www.criterionchannel.com/documentarie... Helvetica, Urbanized, Objectified, Rams. A great set of documentaries by one of my fave doc 📽️ makers.
Nobel lectures are a minor art form, and Krasznahorkai is the master among masters. So happy this is now in book form by @ndbooks.bsky.social www.ndbooks.com/book/enough-...
Verso has this great chart navigating the works of John Berger www.versobooks.com/blogs/news/m...
The Youtube Algo doing its thing at the end of the new Massive Attack/Tom Waits video “Boots on the Ground”
Went to the Center for #Photography in Woodstock last weekend to see Ocean Vuong's exhibition as well as Nona Faustine's. Both were wonderful in their own way.
Amused by the Republicans who are jumping ship now. So…the concentration camps (etc!) weren’t enough, but high gas prices really do it?
I bought three roles of #Leica Monopan 50 last August on backorder at B&H. Just delivered, and they're sold out on the site already. Been on the waiting list at a Leica store for months. Why use a film at all when it's so rare? Utterly ridiculous. I still #believinfilm, just not this film!
This is a cool list of 100 best movie theaters in the world, though missing the tiny gem, Theater De Uitkijk in Amsterdam. These places (Like @filmforumnyc.bsky.social in NYC) are the heart of the movies to my mind. 📽️
Finally! Follow labels in Qobuz. What’s great feature. Can’t say for sure but I think that’s unique for streaming services
I can only muse over what a classic style street photo this would have been had I merely composed and focused properly! Just owning mistakes here (and somehow more comfortable posting them). #believeinfilm #leicam6 hp5+ #Voigtlander Nokton 75mm

I’m not a Wes Anderson super fan but his films are great to see on the big screen
It's not NYC without a rush hour subway meltdown. Yet, all these people were quite kind to one another getting out (this station uses elevators to exit). And a woman who saw me hanging out at the turnstiles (figuring out how to get home) offered to take care of my subway fare. #filmIsNotDead
This view of Manhattan, from Williamsburg, always gives me a sense of what the skyline might have looked like a century ago. #believeInFilm
Saw Sinners at the Village East Angelica tonight in 70mm. Thoroughly fun movie.
The conversation with Matt Black in his work American Geography and American Artifacts could easily have gone on longer than the two hours. He's such an authentic and impassioned #photographer keeping the documentary tradition alive. Thanks to picturehouse + thesmalldarkroom!
