Weirdly, after that the solar app charts show almost nothing used (here's one from yesterday with 0.2kW y-axis and an afternoon laundry, and a representative one from February which isn't very sunny but is normal) but the smart meter is showing the grid use.

Today's Technical Problem I Didn't Ask For: Electricity. I check the smart meter twice a week to monitor the daily usage. From June 11 it's 5-8 kWh/day more than usual for sunny days and solar panels. I start trying to troubleshoot/understand. Here's the solar monitoring app data for June 10.

I bought Toby James Fox's Craftland for Christmas, and he's now bought me this marvellous pair of Ernest Wright Sheffield-made quilting scissors!

I got rid of my worn out coat yesterday, but first I cut the buttons off and saved them in the button jar. The jar is now full and I was not prepared for that. What now - a second jar? A bigger jar?

Did my DIY class homework. I have a long list of questions and things I found difficult.

Back garden patio on a sunny day. A wood table, on it an electric drill and a vise, and a wood frame about 40cm across with a top and bottom and sides and two extra internal uprights.

DIY practice: very energetic for me, but I don't need to leave the house till Saturday so I have plenty of recovery time. Practiced sawing skills and turned this old shed roof that didn't fit in mum's car for the tip, into four smaller bits which I hope to be able to dispose of at some point.

Back garden patio. A large piece of shed roof wood is lying on the table, with its far end balanced on some folding steps. There is a saw in it, it's got about half way through but I left it there while I had a rest, with its orange handle sticking out. Protective eye goggles also on the table.

Corner of the back garden patio. Four pieces of shed roof are leaning against the wall. They're a more manageable size now, though the critical amongst you might point out that I've not sawn them on a nice right angle and their edges are wonky.

Crochet class 2: granny squares. Made a couple of off by one errors and needed to unravel all the way round twice, but understanding it more now. Homework: finish the edge; try another edge with a different colour; try another square from the beginning but much tighter, I'm very loose.
