My granddaughter running the Duke City Marathon this morning! The course starts at Mayor Kinney Civic Plaza in downtown. Harry Kinney, ABQ's mayor in 1984, started the first Marathon with the 15th Duke of Alburquerque (original Spanish spelling), who traveled from Madrid, Spain, for the event.
My granddaughter's dad was a respected member of the Californian Juaneño Band of Mission Indians, Acjachemen Nation. When her brother went to visit their dad's memorial on Father's Day, he discovered it had been vandalized. 💔
