Anything but the car! I live in a car-infested suburb but hardly ever drive, and explain how I do that. The car is Plan G after WFH, walk, bike, bus, electric motor scooter, motorcycle.
It's good to be ready, but nothing in the immediate Pittsburgh area is out of the yellow yet. The Ross Twp one a mile from my house is AQI=55. The next closest two are 59. I'm running air filters and dehumidifiers, not for smoke but for the mold and dust from the house project & a damp basement.
Someone named Caja lost an iPhone. Safe in my hands at the moment. Locked, of course. Ideas, anyone? 8/
Meanwhile, back on 872, pre-storm, I checked out the little park for the 1911 Austin Dam Disaster. 56/
I also have to deal with an overhead drone at close range. It’s coming in for a landing here, the green thing only about 8 feet up here.
That curve and grade crossing should make for a good video. The problem might be the 100 people who will fill up that space in front of me. 38/
Five school buses of kids will be joining us. I told their leader that lessons will be available. 37/
Hanging with a bunch of people from Nunda. If you can pronounce Nunda and Castile properly, you’re a native. 36/
An attempt at a selfie with our tree on the @sunygeneseo.bsky.social campus. Solo trip, nobody around to hold the camera since school is out, so this is the best I’m going to do. 29/
This is a designated ADA bus so a couple rows of seats are not available for use. 10/
Boarded the first coach at 7:40. I was among the first to arrive here, prior to 7. 9/
7am, on site, waiting to board one of 15 big coach buses to shuttle us over. /8
For those who know this game, this is a major accomplishment! Several days’ effort.
Most of the dots you see here along Perrysville, Brighton & California are my work since October. 5/
If I can haul home a box this big on my electric motor scooter, there are a heckuvalotta people who do not need to be driving gasoline automobiles. Most everything a single person needs to haul around will fit in the big hatch on the back.
The Ross park & ride doesn’t look too busy yet at 8am. The NFL Draft special service 99North bus does not start running until 10, I’m told. 1/
This is the post office parking lot. The bus stop is on the diagonally opposite corner. Look closely; no-ped-xing signs across both directions from here. I scurried across to the corner to the right where I can legally cross the 7-lane stroad. 5/
