In 2017 I visited the Cocteau Museum, his grave and the fortified tower on the seafront in Menton that he restored and which is filled with his ceramics and textiles
I didn't see it, but I love his work and his interventions in cultural spaces, reimagining objects from the past. This was a very impressive installation at the RA
We could have had this Greek-inspired design by Sir John Soane (Bank of England, Castle Howard) after PoW burned down in 1834, rather than the glowering ecclesiastical Gothic building.
Meet Jonathan Swift, a fledging who fell out of the sky in a thunderstorm and who I looked after until it dried out. Took it to the vet who said it hadn't been injured, and helped it to fly off again. Holding it in my hands, feeling its heartbeat and looking it in the eye was a unique experience

Where did you see it? I made one inspired by it many years ago in a real birdcage, with a porcelain bird on a swing which I found in a flea market! (horrible photo I took when it was installed in my Grant Museum exhibition in 2010)
