The leaves don’t look perfect, but this is the highest number of simultaneous blooms out of all the containers I did this year. These are Zinnias that I started from seeds back in March.
I have a new prose poem published in -ette review today. It’s called “The Sky is Falling.” ettereview.com/summer2026/o... @ettereview.bsky.social
Loved the Rochester Garbage Plate mention in Ducks, Newburyport by Lucy Ellmann. I kind of want to make a list of all the foods mentioned in this book, but that might be way too long of a list. #Reading
“The fact that” I’m just over 70 pages in and I think I’m already obsessed with Ducks, Newburyport by Lucy Ellmann. #reading
AWP Book Haul! How long do you think it will take me to read everything? Keep in mind, “Ducks, Newburyport” is one of the chunkiest books I’ve seen at 1,040 pages. #AWP26
If any AWP people are hunting for water, there are some bottles in the vending machine on the second floor between the men’s and women’s bathrooms by the non-moving escalators. The opposite side as the model boat. All the other ones I saw were completely out. #AWP26
AWP is great, but the convention center pizza is definitely not. Is there anything decent that I can plan on getting tomorrow? #AWP26
I’m very excited to be one of the writers reading at an AWP offsite event hosted by @ettereview.bsky.social in Baltimore, Maryland.
I was having a bad day, but going out for a latte definitely made it better. This is called the Honey Badger, and it’s a latte with honey, cinnamon, and cardamom.
I actually tried to make my bed for once and my dog didn’t want to move, so I tucked her in instead.
My poem, “Crowded City Bus,” is in Issue Eight of Frozen Sea. frozensea.org/issue-eight @frozenseapoetry.bsky.social
I had smoked corned beef for the first time and it was amazing!
Saturday morning coffees always set the tone for the rest of the day. How are you all spending your Saturday?
In anticipation of Groundhog Day tomorrow, I wanted to share this adorable groundhog I met a few years ago at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Rochester, New York.
Hope you all have a good New Year’s! My Finch, Mittens, is dressed for the occasion. #FinchApp
Merry Christmas! The sweater is a little short on her, but she’s a long dog.
Three of my poems were published recently in the Tiny Moments: Vol. V anthology (Bronze Bird Books). This is one of them, called "Black Bear and the Peach Tree." www.amazon.com/gp/product/B... #PoetryAnthology #Poem
