Remarkable site, but we preferred Herculaneum - it gave a real insight into the magnitude of the eruption tragedy, was compact and had better information. Pompeii is huge, and the information is poorly presented so you spend a lot of time getting lost. Still worth seeing, though…
Brands was my local circuit. I loved the almost weekly club meetings, interspersed with great international events. The greatest drive I saw was in April 1970 at the BOAC 1000, with Pedro Rodriguez and his unbelievable control of the JW Porsche 917 on a soaking track, a truly bravura performance.
