DIY magnetic dust filter installed! Made from air conditioner filter mesh with tesa brand woven PET wire loom tape folded in half lengthwise as the edging. The case is aluminum so adhesive backed steel plates were used to give the magnetic tape something to stick to. Much better than kits online.

Made my own magnetic PC case dust filter from scratch using a piece of replacement air conditioner dust filter mesh, tesa 51036 wire loom tape for the edges, and adhesive-backed magnetic tape. Just waiting on the adhesive steel plates 'cause my case is aluminum. But it sticks to the fridge good.

Fun fact--the swords used by the Browns at Pottawatomie were described as "broadswords" and the US M1832 Foot Artillery Sword is most likely the weapon in question.

Absolutely loving that visual. These didn't usually have bayonets and when they did they were either spring catch ones or plug bayonets but I'm just imagining an Ottoman Empire rifle being flown like that. They seem like very aerodynamic flintlocks lol

It's wild violets season once again, which meant--of course--that it was burger time.

A fresh handful of peanuts has been supplied, and the chipmunk is once more standing upon my thigh as it gobbles up peanuts from my open hand.

Its belly and cheeks full, alike, the chipmunk leaps in a blur of stripey action away from my hand and out of frame.

Revamped my fan curves and the new build is now whisper quiet. The Arctic P14 Pros are absolute beasts and can move serious air, but need manual reining in to keep quiet. Let the mobo auto-set the curve and it'll get excessively fast and loud because of its high max rpm.

Oh I mean compared to modern live-edged swords! The aesthetic of modern examples is very different from that of antiques in certain ways that are a little hard to describe, but most especially in the fittings. One sees similar differences between Revolutionary War hangers and modern replicas.

My copy of @dresdencodak.com's phenomenal Dark Science vol.1 showed up yesterday and it's GORGEOUS. The last time I was this hyped for a book I bought to arrive it was a signed limited anthology of @stevepurcell.bsky.social's Sam & Max! So chuffed to have this on the bookshelf.
