I wasn’t sure what they were, but I was certain they existed.
I was currently experiencing mine somewhere between a suspiciously crumpled box labeled “Winter Gala 2015” and a metal filing cabinet that looked like it predated the internet. I vaguely wondered when my last tetanus shot was.
To be fair, it wasn’t a full breakdown. Just the kind where your common sense short-circuits, your instincts abandon you completely, and you start seriously questioning whether you could survive a job where the love of your life didn’t recognize you on sight.
In my defense, I hadn’t expected him to still live here.
