Narrowing this down to just four was tough. Now, I already own these four (as well as quite a few others I also feel strongly about) but I suppose I wanted something that felt like a fairly representative selection of my tastes.
I'm pretty early in Yakuza 5 and, boy, if this doesn't just sum up the whole series:
And I hit credits on Side Order. If I didn't have Raiders to jump into, I could easily see myself playing much more of this. As it is, I'll probably leave it for now (and maybe come back to it at some point later). It was really good! And, like the Octo Expansion, different from the main game!
Some of the levels in this game were TOUGH! I feel like a lot of modern Nintendo stuff is way too easy, but, man, that is not the case with Splatoon. The final "secret" level took me two and a half hours of attempts to complete!
I finally played Splatoon 3's single-player. Unsurprisingly, it was really good! I loved the multiplayer but just never got around to the campaign, for whatever reason, but with Raiders now out I thought I'd finally correct that. Every Splatoon game has a great ending and this was no exception.
I assume this game has been out for some time, but seeing this promoted to me *now* feels surreal.
Tweaked it slightly, trying to decide whether I like this more or if I should just go with my first pass.
I'm not a particularly skilled (or quick) artist, but I figured it was time for a new avatar.
These aren't the MOST obscure titles from my Steam library, or even necessarily my all-time favorite Steam games, but these are 9 games (each with under 10,000 Steam reviews) that I feel pretty strongly about (and think could do with some publicity).
Looking into it a bit, it seems like it's not just a straightforward single-player campaign? "Crash too many times and you’re out of the tour ... Certain perks and unlocks earned in previous attempts are carried over to the next run. Start each tour fresh ..." www.starwars.com/news/star-wa...
Despite having this game for a month or so, I only just now finally took someone on a trip. It even let me take a picture at the End!
I feel like I'm developing a pretty accurate representation of myself with this game.
Not everything's a joke, sometimes it's just nice to watch characters you like be sweet to one another. (Uh, ignore the Sandvich. I was testing out some OBS overlay stuff to see if I could trace/reference something for a custom design and I forgot to remove it when I was done).
This game has a daily news broadcast where you'll get a description of some random event, and I've gotten the "A Hurricane Is Approaching" one *twice* on my Umineko save. My decision to recreate Rokkenjima keeps paying dividends.
I'll need to flesh this out with some buildings (maybe even custom terrain) and the right half of my map definitely needs some inspiration, but this is what my island looks like at the moment. I've also included a picture of my secondary Rokkenjima island (though this'll change as I expand it).
I basically just tried to recreate an image I found online, but I think I did an alright job making the Red Dragon from Drakengard (yes, I know she has a name). I haven't messed too much with the custom design feature yet, but there's so much potential here.
This is the ideal family unit. Kiryu (from Yakuza). Kiryu's surrogate daughter Haruka (also from Yakuza). Kiryu's wife, Jill Valentine (from Resident Evil). Hal (from Malcolm in the Middle).
