#art It’s been a while since I had anything in a gallery. Now I have a pair of drawings in the Emerge! 2026 exhibit at the Hannan Center Kayrod Gallery in Detroit. It opens tomorrow and runs through mid-September Many, many thanks to @brucegerlach.bsky.social (also in the show) for tipping me off!

I’m Dug, a Metro Detroiter that toiled for 25 years as a page-builder (graphic designer) until the small paper I worked for closed. We’ve lived in this house for 25 years. Around this time of year in the rear of the basement where my studio is we get an invasion of Cluster flies. Discovering this our first spring was like something out of a horror film I used to use a shop vac to clear them out. Now it’s ’catch & release’
