Oh cool, I have one of those too. It has a weird French name though: “vélocipède”.
In the Air France Lounge in Terminal F, THEY BRING THE CHAMPAGNE AND MADELEINES TO YOUR TABLE.
Sean Connery’s boots and cod-piece with suspenders always makes me ugly cry too.
Yeah, I read that the quality of the Viara cam wasn’t great, so I have a mount that can fit a Garmin and a GoPro. Only mount it when I am riding solo (which is often).
Spoke too soon. Train stopped at a random station and we were told to get out and go to the other platform to wait for a new train. Something about a major defect on the line. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
When in Tuscany, if you should see a bottle of Cantillon Gueuze, you should buy it and enjoy it. QED.
Today, instead of Victory Pappy, we drink Islay Scotch of Defeat. Not because it tastes bad (it doesn’t) but because the salinity, iodine, and chlorophenol remind us that life is suffering, but we carry the hope in our hearts like a strong malt backbone. Or just: fuck Ohio.
Using the modified @hulcricket.bsky.social scale, today I squatted a Courtney plus 55lbs.
Let me tell you about when our ICE from Bamberg to Wittenberg was replaced with an Ersatzzug: We found a Danish family in our seats who, when confronted, refused to move and shouted that reservations aren’t valid on Ersarzzüge (not true). Spent 4 hours standing at the back of the car with no A/C.
I’ve been in Germany for almost a week with my mom (great time, wonderful to show what all that time spent studying German/Germany History was for). But, aside from an earlier post lamenting the size of beers in Heidelberg, all I want to post is this picture of Wiesbaden’s Goodest Boi (Wunderhund?).
Since I’m still up, who’s watching Paris Roubaix in the morning?! I took the bike out for the first long ride of the season today (33 miles) and it was a moderate suffering. Probably comparable to 160 miles of cobblestones in northern France. Nbd.
No problem! We actually both caught colds in-around Ghent 😂. I hope it won’t be my last visit, I’d like to spend more time on a bike if time/weather allows. Hope you’re feeling better! Here are a couple beer pics from the trip.
Wish our trip overlapped with the Ronde Vlaanderen or Gent-Wevelgem, but it was cool to see Bruges getting set up to host the start of de Ronde. Slightly disappointed that the photo cutout wasn’t Wout, but what are you gonna do.
Thanks! We are all good here, just some wind and rain but better safe than sorry with the doggos (who have been chill AF).
Just watching basketball in the basement with the dogs, like any normal Sunday in March. #wx #westmichigan #kalamazoowe
I think the best beer I had in my recent trip to NED/BEL was Rochefort Tripel. Second best was LaFort Tripel. Third is just a massive tie between almost everything else I drank.
