Last photo before I pull this entire scarf out. Turns out, it really is too wide for my preferences. Five and a half (to 5¾) inches wide is apparently too wide to be comfortable. Though it was nice to be able to work on it while it's around my neck... #crochet #tunisiancrochet #crochetscarf 1/3
And the knitted "padding" inside the cuffs, to prevent cold air from blowing up my wrists. Interestingly, aside from the "ribbing" around my waist, these were one of the very, VERY first steps I'd ever completed on this project! Man, it's taken me ages... 3/3
My officially-licensed TNG-era Combadge by Qmͯ, with the knitted pocket that holds its magnetic back-plate. Should I remove the badge (or it's otherwise) pulled off, the plate won't fall out. Though, it is tempting to sew the plate into the pocket... =^.~= 2/3
The first two buttons took me an hour and a half, while the next four buttons took me two hours. I guess it does take practice to get better at this sort of thing. Just three buttons left, then it's complete! #crochet #crochetcardigan #tng-cardigan 1/2
Still no buttons, and several ends yet to be woven in, but I can finally say that it's *actually* 99% complete! =^.^= Fortunately, I should be able to everything left at home, without needing any large amount of space. #crochet #crochetcardigan #tng-cardigan 1/2
Well, I did NOT expect my officially-licensed Combadge by Qmͯ to actually stay attached to something this thick! But it's doing so well! And yes, I have pulled off all the black yarn to use up more of the red yarn before the colour change. Soon! #crochet #crochetscarf #tunisiancrochet #crimson-scarf
And I'd wanted to try a diagonal line in case it looked interesting. And it does! I'll need to redo this join due to having WAY too much red yarn left over, and I'm going to try the diagonal going the other way to see if I can get rid of that odd line across the back. 3/3
It's a striking combination! That unfortunately still gives me Star Trek vibes. But I'll be doing this anyway, because I don't have enough red yarn for a full-length scarf. The Tunisian Double-Knit Stitch being VERY soft and warm! #crochet #tunisiancrochet #crochetscarf #crimson-scarf 1/3
Some wet leaves I saw on my walk today. #photography #leafphotography #rain
Yep. Not much yarn left. I'm still going to use up all the yarn, in case it *is* a useful length, but it's questionable. I was going to try swapping to a similar style black yarn, but that wouldn't leave much yarn of either colour... #crochet #crochetscarf #tunisiancrochet #crimson-scarf 1/2
A closeup of a button attachment point. Tripling-up the vertical loops ought to be enough strength to hold a button in place, right? It's across two consecutive rows as button holes will be between two rows on the opposite hem. Hopefully it works out! 2/3
Definitely the most portable project I've ever had, that's for sure! Still quite a ways from done, though. I am a little concerned about how long the yarn will last, so I may need to redo this once I get there... #crochet #crochetscarf #tunisiancrochet #crimson-scarf
I'm confident enough that the collar is within my preferred tolerances, so I'm about 95% certain I *won't* need to undo anything I've completed by this point, so it's basically just the button bands left to go! I'm trying to be careful this time, so I don't have to undo it much. #tng-cardigan 1/3
I've been doing more work on this scarf, and it's finally long enough to fold over! Now you can see that it's basically the same on both sides! The advantages of the Tunisian Double-Knit Stitch! =^.^= #crochet #crochetscarf #tunisiancrochet #crimson-scarf 1/2
A closeup of the collar. I'd gone for the very simple Tunisian Simple Stitch, using a 4.5mm afghan hook, which is one size up from what I'd been using for the rest of the cardigan. And it's worked very well so far! I want the collar to pull open until it's buttoned up, and it does that! =^.^= 2/3
It looks like the collar is complete, too! =^.^= I'm actually a little surprised by that, as I'd *fully* expected to need to tweak the height and such for the collar a couple of times, and even thought this try was going to too be short. Apparently not! #crochet #crochetcardigan #tng-cardigan 1/3
And the neckline is (nearly) done! And looks about right! Woohoo! =^.^= The math (and both charts) seem to have steered me in the right direction, and I'm pretty certain I *won't* need to undo it again! So much relief! =^.^= #crochet #crochetcardigan #tng-cardigan 1/2
I'm very impressed by my even tensions already, especially given how skinny AND fluffy this yarn is! Not quite good enough for r/TensionPorn, though maybe later. I may need to buy more yarn like this in the future, as I don't seem to have much right now... 2/2
Yes, it's another project. But it turns out I need another lightweight scarf, as I only have one right now, and it's in the laundry. It's random, bright red yarn I'd obtained from a late yarn-crafter's stash. Feels like acrylic, and fluffy! #crochet #tunisiancrochet #crochetscarf #crimson-scarf 1/2
Work continues somewhat slowly, but surely! The front neckline is doing *very* well, and I'm nearly to the point of covering over the slant to get the angle smoothed over. Things are looking like they'll line up very shortly! #crochet #crochetcardigan #tng-cardigan
So, it turns out I may have run this yarn through the winder a couple too many times. If I don't have any tension on the yarn, it twists up like it's got too much twist in it. Oh well! At least I know for certain it won't untwist on me as I keep using it! #crochet #crochetcardigan #tng-cardigan 1/3
As far as I was able to get today before needing to start the next ball of yarn, and found out that the new ball of yarn needs to be twisted a LOT tighter than it currently is. Fortunately, I found this out *immediately*, and was able undo and fix things. #crochet #crochetcardigan #tng-cardigan 1/3
My superflat creative test world. You don't need much to have a highly effective Guardian Farm. But a bug in Minecraft's superflat code is preventing me from testing the Squid Ink farm, because NO passive ocean mobs are spawning. #minecraft 1/2
The *correct* Ocean Monument to clear out. I've got most of my clearing resources moved over, though I still need to design what I'll be putting here once it's clear. Especially since I want some Squid Ink farms to help make Dark Prismarine easier to craft! #minecraft 1/2
