The eclipse being ahead in Inverness confuses me as much as days being so much longer in the summer. Like I get it, but I don't GET it.
Oh no. John August says Ava is a bad name for a dog 🥺 To be fair mine is short for Avasarala from The Expanse, but that’s even more awkward to shout in the park.
Delayed starting John of John because Douglas Stuart's previous novels took a lot of effort to get through (though I was glad I persevered) but this one is a lot easier to get in to. It still has its heavy moments, but it's also made me smile a lot.
Im not usually a Ryan Murphy fan but I am really loving The Shards, though this extremely attractive cast is actually distracting
Had to pick up painkillers for the dog was charged £55. FIFTY FIVE QUID when I could have gone round the corner to Boots for solpadeine for £8. And I have a drawer full of that already! I’m fewmin.
Genuinely I have never been made to feel so ancient by a question on the internet 😭
It’s such a horrible feeling leaving the dog at the vets for anaesthetic. After swelling up last week they think she’s got a broken tooth 🥹
Reece’s Book Club putting the name of their monthly pick behind a paywall is wild
Someone on Reddit commented that this is the longest heatwave of their life, and someone replied "so far" 🫠 I can't live in a London where 40º summers are the norm, I'll be off back to north Scotland.
I love this show. It’s such a beautiful neo-noir detective story with a twist you wouldn’t believe if you read it as a spoiler. And every so often we see Colin Farrell in a swimming pool and he looks incredible.
As someone who grew up in north Scotland, this tree just casually growing in a neighbours garden in London always delights me
I looked at the Simone Rocha kilt ONCE months and months ago and these ads have followed me across the internet ever since. Simone I would totally buy it if I had £900 to spare, please stop teasing me 😢
Took too long to change my bedding last night and Ava decided it was fine the way it was.
My dog turned six years old today, which is actually crazy. She was an impulse buy during the darkest days of lockdown and has cost me an actual fortune but I love her so much.
If you want to support a brilliant Scottish author, this is Val McDermid and her wife at Glasgow Pride yesterday. Her Karen Pirie series is great, but I love the Allie Burns books a lot too.
The incredible Station Eleven miniseries is just £2.99 for all ten episodes on Apple at the moment - very worth a watch. tv.apple.com/gb/show/stat...
The Traveller by Joseph Eckert is excellent cerebral time travel family drama - sort of like Black Crouch does Interstellar.
My sister has discovered a stash of old photographs at my grans house. Must be my 90s emo phase.
A Black Sheep Coffee has opened in Clapham, and my dog is obsessed with the puppuccino after two visits.
Between Asos alerts and Sainsbury’s in store merch, you might forget Scotland qualified for the World Cup 🏴
