2 weeks ago, my partner knocked the side view mirror loose backing my car out of the garage. Estimates to get a new one were $300-500. So I ordered one online a different color ($55), swapped out the cover to the right color, watched a couple YouTube videos, + replaced it myself.

Bosnia + Herzegovina’s national football team is using Utah as their headquarters for the #WorldCup and opened their practice to the public today. Seemingly every single Bosnian-American who lives in Utah is here, along w/ a lot of excited local kids + soccer fans (me + my 10yo + his soccer team).
I don’t like Las Vegas, but I love the Mormon History Association. I chaired one panel on Mormonism in the 1970s, presented some of my early research on the history of religion and soccer at another, and participated in an author-meets-critics roundtable on a book about BYU basketball.

7th graders in our local school district each job shadow someone on an appointed day. I was honored to have a friend’s son, an aspiring historian, ask to shadow me. On Wednesday, he attended classes with me in the morning, then we researched all afternoon in BYU’s Special Collections.

Yesterday, @penguinrandomhouse.bsky.social announced they’re publishing @spencercox.bsky.social’s book on “How to be a Peacemaker.” Hours later, Cox championed a detention center in Utah for those ICE deems dangerous, which will include both illegal and legal immigrants, as well as U.S. citizens.
