Flora: Resting #winxclub #illustration #art

Flora from Winx Club (a light-skinned Latina fairy with brown hair and blonde highlights in a pink halter-top dress with light pink opera gloves and blue accessories and large pink and green wings) leaning against a weeping willow branch while sitting on a rock over handing a green river. The top corners have trianglar windows holding pink roses. The composition is borrowed from Alphonse Mucha's 1896 Summer print and utilizes a similar lighting and soft rendering style.

The Gen 7 starters also have this issue but those designs exaggerate their shapes so much they kind of by pass this. It's hard to notice how human Incineroar is when it's just shaped like that.

I generally don't care about the four legged pokemon standing up but my God I hope they move away from the generic furry approach to it anthro design. I want my creatures to look like creatures not animal heads on weirdly proportion human body's.

QRP with something watery 🌊🌊🌊

Flora is framed by a dark rocky overhand and behind her is the rocky ocean floor with a distant kelp forest slowly becoming more blue as it fades to the background. She illuminated by a strong white light from above, silhouetting her head while her right side is rim light in purple from the subtle glow of her back fin.

#silksong My favorite part is the lamppost lmao

Comparison. There's about two years between when I finished this illustration and when I finally went back and made it's background better. Overall I'm so happy with how much the background strengthens this piece and adds to the naturalism that I was going for and cements it as one of my favorites
