I understand authors having A Vision for their cover art & the temptation to use genAI when they cannot otherwise afford it. I really do. It's hard being broke & wanting something beautiful. But y'know what? I had A Vision for REDEEMER so I crowdfunded being able to pay for it. Same with SHARK-MAN.

The truly incredible cover to CE Murphy's upcoming pulpy paranormal romance novel, THE SEDUCTION OF SHARK MAN, portrays a red-headed woman scientist in a lime green dress beneath a lab coat. She is holding a vial of glowing green goo as an enormous half-man, half-shark, well, SHARK-MAN clutches her to his tremendous chest, her ample bosoms pressing up against his own ample bosoms. He is ginormous. He is tattooed. He is half dressed. She looks lustful. He leers. A laboratory surrounds them. Her thigh curves around his. It's simply incredible.

The image is treated to look like a battered old paperback. The text above them, reading THE SEDUCTION OF SHARK-MAN, is in lurid reds and yellows. A poster to one side cries, "THEIR FORBIDDEN LOVE DEFIED SCIENCE!" The author byline reads "An exciting new romance from C.E. Murphy writing as MURPHY LAWLESS."

It is simply incredible. I would say there are no words, but I've just used 200 of them to describe this. :)

Also in our defense, there were other tourists also wandering around trying to find the grave which was at the very front of the graveyard twenty feet away from the church's front door. They also agreed that the sign at the front of the property was extremely misleading. 😂

So given Yeats's association with Benbulben, it was very easy to assume he was buried as close to it as he could be. We spent a good 20 minutes wandering around in search of the grave. Even the fact that it was a pokéstop & visible on my Pokémon Go game did not help. Eventually we found it:

Yeats's grave is circled and is perhaps as much as 20 feet from the church's front door. It is literally the first grave as you walk toward the graveyard. It is not, however, particularly prominent or featured.

*Yeats's grave was in fact not hidden at all, but the sign directing tourists into the graveyard was significantly misleading, suggesting that the grave was on the back wall. And in our defence the view over the back wall was spectacular:

@thebarbarienne.bsky.social & I had A SPECTACULAR day out, in which we located Yeats's exceptionally well-concealed grave*, a much less wily Glencar Waterfall, & the mind-boggling Gleniff Horseshoe, which, had I known about it previously, absolutely would have featured in one of the Walker Papers :)

I made a carrot cake cobbler with a caramel pecan filling this evening & it is INSANE. The recipe called for 1.5 cups of corn syrup. I have some kind of vendetta against corn syrup so I adapted it to 1/2c of melted butter, 1/3c honey, & an extra 1/4c brown sugar instead. It's VERY good. VERY rich.
