This bit in the piece is scary because it shows that the mere threat of bonkers legal claims by well funded hate groups is scaring organisations into changing perfectly legal schemes designed to reduce discrimination.
Here it is in black and white. But people don't need to read the refugee convention to want refugees to feel safe to build lives here, to integrate into society, to have jobs and homes. And they and their children can't do that if they're being threatened with deportation every few years.
Ah yes if black and brown people throw a party we need to scan their faces. White supremacists organising a hate march do not need to worry about their privacy. The police have them covered. This btw is also why everyone arguing for digital id in this country is either naive or dangerous.
