Was shopping at Safeway (rare for me because they're overpriced in general and suck) for extra potatoes to make mashed potatoes to go with the schnitzel I made for dinner last night. Saw this wall of produce so I decided to leave a little note for other people in my community. We're all we have.

Image is a picture that the op took of many Safeway shelves stocked full of Taylor Farms bagged lettuce and salad mixes. Taylor Farms is the source of the current cyclosporia bacteria outbreak in the US. The op placed a handwritten, black sharpie penned note from an old receipt they had in their bag that says: "Taylor Farms has been found to be the source of cyclosporia bacterial outbreak. Stay healthy Fam!"

The entire universe is a cycle of death and rebirth and so it's pretty funny to me to think that we, as humans think that we're any different or separate from those cycles honestly.

A very blurry, much less high quality photo of the first red poppy to open on my veranda. I grew them from a neighbor's seeding poppies from 2 years ago. The crazy wind of the past couple of days in Santa Rosa has them bent over.

My eldest child went back to university today & left this for me: they know me very well 😊 It's digitalis obscura, var. Sunset 'Dusky maid' This foxglove will be golden yellow & crimson. I'm looking forward to watching it grow. It's average lifespan is 3-5 years as a short-lived perennial.

Have fun! I grew Freakshow in my backyard, here in Cali a few years ago. It was fascinating watching it grow, and the berry scent it had after drying was really nice.
