Red Sox, UConn football, UConn WBB and MBB
Mini golf > real golf ⛳ TWO holes-in-one for me today. This will never happen again as long as I live. (I've never played real golf and probably couldn't if my life depended on it).
Seen while out kayaking this morning and home in time for the Red Sox game. A good day! (I'm assured Bird is a Red Sox fan.)
National Ice Cream Day had to be celebrated bc they opened up a new ice cream shop in my town last month and I hadn't been yet. 🍦🍨 Pros: first-rate ice cream, lots of good flavors, outdoor seating area... Cons: the outdoor seating area overlooks the shopping center parking lot. 🤷♀️
Operation Take the Ferry to the Mets game yesterday was a success. Mets fans are friendly🙂 Ferry review: awesome. Perfect weather for a boat ride and it eliminated all the stress getting to/from the game - worth the $ to me. Potential downsides: only one bathroom, limited seating on the upper deck.
Waiting to board the ferry to the Mets/Phillies game. They started a ferry a 10 minute drive from my house so I have to check it out but this Red Sox fan is feeling a little conspicuous among all these Mets shirts in line, lol.
I wonder what kind of people own a private island right off a public beach. 🤔
Returning from vacation in Montreal and this is what greeted us at the first Dunkin' over the border😅. But good news - they let us back in the country.
Through the vagaries of family vacation, I have somehow ended up at the Canadians vs. Hurricanes game tonight. Always happy to root against the fake Whalers though.
Ivy League baseball tournament - Yale vs Brown (currently 1-0 Brown). Cheap, local-ish, and it's a beautiful day to watch a ball game. It beats watching Bello and the Red Sox get shelled today.
Not a nice day at the beach but a Friday off from work is a Friday off from work - gotta get those steps in before I hit the couch for the Red Sox home opener and U-C-O-N-N! / SC later 🙂. Hoping the Huskies will be able to hit some shots tonight (different rims, right?🙏).
We made it home from UConn (fog + dark = yuck). I guess I am a UConn women's hockey fan now. Tia Chan is a superstar 🙂.
All right - we're all ready for OT here. Let's go, UConn! (and btw there's a guy in front of me in a Pat Verbeek Whalers jersey).
Huskies vs. Huskies Northeastern brought their band, UConn's is understandably otherwise occupied but... #UConnWHOC #HockeyEast
I was spared the trauma of today's UConn "victory" bc we went to the Yale/Cornell game (102-68 Yale). Yale is obviously not at UConn's level, but their offense is beautiful to watch. And always a kick to watch a game in a building that could pass for a cathedral🙂.
We decided to go to Quinnipiac/Sacred Heart today to check out Amarii Monroe.
Happy first night of Chanukah. I sent my son in college a photo of his gifts that he won't be able to open until he gets home later this week and he accused me of taunting. He was right 🙂.
Snow for real - pretty and peaceful but sadly not on a weekday so no paid time off from work 🙂. ❄️❄️
Jim Mora finally got around to the basic "goodbye and thank you" note for UConn fans.
A good day in NYC - UConn won and I found a DOUBLE DECKER carousel🙂. I confess I was worried after the way they played against Bryant.
MSG pizza still overpriced 🙂 but the NBA Cup court doesn't look as bad in person as on TV. More UConn fans here so far of course, but plenty of Illinois fans, too.
We've made it to NYC for my family's annual UConn mbb game. Currently stuck in Shake Shack at Penn Station bc my husband thinks 10:00am is a good time for a milkshake.
Missed watching the first part of the UConn football game to attend the local No Kings rally and then came home to no internet for the rest of the game👎. I will celebrate BC's downfall like I saw the game anyway.
