Pathfinder 2e Stan, arch-nemesis of the Assurance (Medicine) feat.
Add "can take an archetype that's Arcana based that in just one feat can double the efficacy or gain control of repeat on Sustain spells (and I think summons)" to the list of many things the make INT a REALLY REALLY strong stat in #pathfinder2e
5e Players: 5e Casters are super powerful in the lore and mechanically. #pathfinder2e Caster: What was that? I was busy ensnaring an entire encounter in an illusion of the process of reincarnation and causing them to slowly rise into the air and be crushed to death by the desire for rebirth.
Even when the Necro uses a reaction to animate a slain foe it's just puppetry. There's lv1 feat The Hallowed Dead that is actually really good because holy is the most common weakness in the game by a huge amount. It involves using necromancy to fight evil uses of necromancy.
Accidentally maybe stronger than intended is R2 Floating Harness. For an hour your companion/eidolon/familiar is kept adjacent to you whenever you move and can't move to any spot not adjacent. So anything that moves you that doesn't forbid taking people with you brings the thing. #pathfinder2e
There's a R1 Spell in #pathfinder2e Impossible Magic that lets you spend 10mins fishing and gives you a random fish that buffs certain checks if you spend 30mins cooking and eating it. Easily slept on because the fish is random and takes so long it's hard to stack them but this is actually nice.
Bone Shield's a nice R1 spell I kinda wish wasn't bone themed so it wouldn't have flavor clashes. Like Shield and cast it every turn? Here's a version with better AC & you can use the Shield Block without putting the thing on cooldown and if destroyed you just refresh it on sustain. #pathfinder2e
Amalgamate is a cool lv14 Necromancer feat that lets you combine two thralls to make them Large, have 10ft reach, 25ft speed and your lv to strike damage. That triggers destroy effects btw. Not sure if its great for the level since they still have 1hp but still cool flavor. #pathfinder2w
The #pathfinder2e Necromancer gets a fest that is a sleeper hit but requires you take Hallowed Dead (you & your thrall gain the holy trait, thrall strikes gain holy and +1 spirit damage, 2 at 10th. And you have an anathema about using creating undead to harm unjustly). Solid. And it opens up THIS
Oh hey... with a lv6 feat Necromancer can get a bonus max rank spell for Summon Undead and more importantly... UNDEAD SUMMONED BY SUMMON UNDEAD COUNT AS THRALLS FOR YOUR ABILITIES THAT TARGET THEM You can Command, Thrall Charge, and Bind Heroic Spirit them! #pathfinder2e
Session 0 is very important for classes like Commander & Necromancer because it's important to set the expectations for enemy savvy. It's bad feels if no enemy ever mistakes your thralls for blocking the way like a normal creature but also thrall walls are really strong #pathfinder2e
Me when people say a #pathfinder2e class lacks versatility or it's got bad feats at certain levels.
When it's targeted. I'm not saying just freely dump multiple saves or anything. I'm just sayin' it's okay to suck and okay if your jimmies get rustled occasionally. This is less the case if your table spams older dragons with fear auras. *shudders with flashbacks*
You know things are bad in the world if people are buying boom sticks to shove up their nose.
Ya'll think I'm playing when I say people meme on #pathinder2e inventor on principle not application but the video that prompted my inventor posts yesterday references a DC that the check for Overdrive never is and then brings up Crit Failing (spoOoky) which actually only has a 5% chance.
Part of my #pathfinder2e Inventor advice sounds really weird and kinda scandalous out of context just because of that old thread comparing Overdrive to a lawnmower.
Given some recent resurgence in discourse on it I would loke to remind you that the problem with Overdrive isn't that it costs an action and skill check it's that most of the time neither matter. #pathfinder2e
Watching the "Humanity Has Declined" anime and the first episode is really weird so far. There's kinda this mix of social commentary and the unknowable horror that was ancient fey mythology.
This look at the trade routes in #pathfinder2e High Seas makes it pretty clear why Absalom is the largest trade city on Golarion. It's right there in the body of water that lets the two sides of the continent trade easily.
I like this small lil guy from #pathfinder2e High Seas. It's a flotsam horror and it's undead by proxy of being an amalgam of souls that were trapped in the debris of a tragedy at sea. It's lv4 but has some abilities you might not be used to seeing around that level like a swarm mode.
Oh, sorry, i misread and thought you asked for Gunslinger and Swash. Here's a bonus Swash feat that's actually pretty nice if you are in a sea encounter.
... to archetype into eventually as it's only lv2 and that's some great action compression for it. There's another neat Gunslinger fest to capitalize on a prior Dirty Trick fight better in close quarters. And this feat is a pretty fun option
I would really like art for this item by #pathfinder2e High Seas is a very compact book of less than 150 pages so there's no room really for art of a turquoise scale hooded cloak that gives aquatic creatures the ability to survive on land for a week before it needs to be dunked in water.
I have previously talked about how settlements often come packing details based around item availability & skipping that hurts both crafting & the possible depth of your setting. Here's an example in #pathfinder2e High Seas. Look at how much you lose if you just put a Walmart everywhere.
When grippli came out in Mwangi Expanse I feel like they came out horribly incomplete but then they were updated to tripkee in Remaster & given a bit more to alleviate that issue. In #pathfinder2e High Seas there's a new heritage and 5 feats (2 at lv1) and they are all good. Grippli FULLY served.
New fear unlocked: Being on a ship (air or sea) at high levels. #pathfinder2e
Anchoring Air from #pathfinder2e is a fine example of spells that scale in power with slot availability. Rank 4 for something that's roughly a common martial feat but trades guarantee for a higher ceiling might not seem that mighty but there's a pretty good reason this is R4 and not lower.
