My sour cherries are picked, pitted, and processed. Three liters of sour cherry jam, a few liters of juice, and packets of cherries frozen for pies.
First batch of raspberry jam done! You can hear the "plink" as the lids seal. You can actually see it snap down on the bottom left jar. So satisfying!
It's nearly 100 years old, but this tool is still the best way to remove raspberry seeds when you are making jam.
My pumpkin pie recipe takes a long time to make. I've started working on it 😂 #gardenersofbluesky
Things are coming along in the garden. Zucchini blooming, tomatoes forming! #vegetable #garden
A good morning picking raspberries at my allotment. Time to make some jam! #garden #allotment
Garden tour. I'll post an allotment tour another day. And some pics of my deck veg. I may need a veg garden intervention.
Digging over a fallow bed. Quick break for lunch, then time to get planting!
The allotment is planted. Still need to repair the corn cage, and tie back some raspberry canes, but happy with what I've got done.
Got my beets, carrots, parsnips, chard, and kale in. Last weekend I put in 3 different apple varieties, a sweet cherry, and 2 hardy peaches, all pruned to Ann Ralph specifications to keep them small and easy to harvest. #gardening
Praying Mantis egg sacks in my raspberry canes! Natural pest control.
This is Rufus. He's 12. I got him as a young feral stray from northern Ontario. He'd already learned that people are cruel. With time, my son and I showed him that he could trust us, that we would keep him safe. He picked his people, there are only 4 of us in this world that merited his love. 🧵
Keep those crocus pics coming! This is my reality 😢 No spring flowers here!
Here are some of the cookies that I did as gifts for Lunar New Year. Gingerbread Fire Horses and Black Sesame with gold leaf.
I made a cookie assortment to bring as a gift for Lunar New Year to my son's girlfriend's parents. We met for the first time as things are getting very serious between our kids. They were just as lovely and welcoming as their daughter. It is a new culture for me, and I am learning so much ❤️
