That's basically the main setting for Ghostly Fright. Komai moves to a mansion that is haunted by Zooko, who is a cursed ghost that lives there. There's more to the plot than just the haunted mansion. It's on and off on how she feels with living with a ghost, but she's getting used to it. 😉 👻

Although it has happened in the story where he actually did take a portion of Komai's soul. Thankfully, Zooko did stop before he took more from her, so he has some control of himself. Unfortunately, the soul withdrawal from the curse did hit him.

I feel that each night the curse becomes progressively worse. He gets more hungry for human souls the more he withdraws. Since Komai moved into the mansion, he finally has a human soul to obtain and in this scenario, she probably would be dead since he wouldn't control himself from eating her soul.
