also, bc i never stop thinking abt this, having the “plug” end (the chip with all the pins) inside the port on your phone instead of being on the cord, and making the plug essentially the port end is design that is made to break in my opinion look at this bullshit

the usb-c port on a phone, i think an iphone but idk, but you can see the port has a chip that sticks out inside the middle of the port, and if you look at the next picture of the cord you can see that the cord is the receiving end for that chip, the connecting pins are on that chip and connect to the inside of the cord when it plugs in, essentially making the cord more of the port that latches on to the chip inside the phone (which looks like it can easily snap right off if i applied pressure to it with a wooden toothpick) wherad lightning, the connection was made where that chip end was on the cord, so your phone had a sturdy hollow port with no small pieces sticking out, and it received the signal on the sides of the port, i’ll include a picture of that as well

this is the picture of the usb-c cord, which looks like the inside of a lightning port tbh. it is the receiving end for the pins on the chip that sticks out of the phone’s usb-c port

here is the lightning cable headed into the port but we can see that essentially they’ve put the “chip” on the cord instead (which makes more sense) which makes the cord’s connection point one solid point that can be thick metal instead of a thin metal casing around a port. they have made it so instead of the chip being inside the phone, the phone has an actual port with pins on the top and bottom walls of the port that connect with the pins on the top of the solid puece of “chip” coming out of the cord.

listen apple has its issues but this was a better design. sometimes they hit a home run.

here is the inside of the lightning port on the bottom of an iphone, an empty port ready to receive the “chip” from the cord. looks durable like it’s less likely to have any little pieces snap off.

it is however the perfect size for a piece of rice to slip in there and get stuck so be careful of that

the right wants to return to their fantasy version of the 50s but dont want the rich to have to return to the tax rate that created it

We can see by the graph that the tax rate is very low in 1913 where the graph begins below 10%. Then it shoots up in 1918 to about 80% before dropping to about 75% and then dropping again this time down below 60% by 1923. it dives to 25% by 1928, and stays there there around 1933 where it shoots up again to about 63% by 1938, then 80% by 1943. It peaks around 1948 at about 95% but then stays at 90% from 1948 through 1963. There it drops straight down to 70%, where it holds until 83 when it plunges to 50%, which it holds until 1988 when it dips again to about 32%. It falls again slightly to 30% by 1993 but claws its way back up to 40% by 1994, where it holds until about 2003, where it drops to 35%. Then it returns to 40% in about 2012. After that the graph does not show any data.

trump is trying to stall the housing bill to force congress into passing the SAVE act (a voter suppression bill) but he has no actual power here. all congress has to do is wait 2 weeks and the bill will become law. if they act like they cant play hardball on this they should all be removed
